Spell Check any field in Firefox Browser
61
Do you have spell check problems in blogs, social sites, and websites? How do you manage the spell check in these areas?
If you don’t or not able to manage spell checking, then you should try Firefox 2.0 (Firefox 3.0 is also available but is in the beta stages). Firefox has a built in spell checker and dictionary and checks every word you type. Even you can add on words to this list for future spell checking.
This Firefox spell checker will underline the misspelled word as shown in the picture. To correct this word, just right click the underlined word with the mouse and you will see a list of suggestions at the top and you can choose one of the options.
This spell checker however works in larger area spaces only, for example it will work when you edit the blogs or in forum posts, but doesn’t spell check the title or one lined text areas such as the subject of the blog or a forum title.
To correct this and make the spell checker work in all areas of your web browser use the following steps and you will be able to spell check every time when you browse the web.
The steps are:
- Type this in the URL or the browser address bar (http://...): “about:config”
- You will see a list of options, just browse down and check the “layout.spellcheckDefault” in Firefox the default value is 1.
- Double click this and change the value to “2″
- Restart Firefox
That’s it you are done, after this you won’t make many spelling errors.
