Spice Up Your Signature in Gmail, Yahoo Mail, AOL Mail and Hotmail
72Outlook and Thunderbird have options to insert signature in your
emails. The webmail also has similar features but they are not very
user-friendly and don't allow you to add complex signatures that
include your web address, social networking and instant messaging
information to share with your clients, friends and families.
But thanks to user-friendly tools like WiseStamp and others we can add signature that contain a wide variety of our information.
How to add signature in Firefox?
WiseStamp
is a Firefox add-on works only with Firefox browser but is compatible
with Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail and AOL Webmail programs.
With
WiseStamp we can add images, HTML (bold, italics, colors and other
styles). It also adds a wide variety of social networks (such as
Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Linked-In, Delicious and others) and
instant messenger clients (Yahoo, Google Talk, MSN and other chat
clients). If you are members of them and want to share with others,
then you can add your user details and WiseStamp adds the information
to your signature.
- Install the WiseStamp add-on here.
- After installing this Firefox extension, restart the browser.
- You will see a "WiseStamp Icon" a rubber stamp-like picture. Click the icon and click "Edit Signature".
- Enter the pertinent details as shown below, your blog information, Twitter user name, web address, contact information etc.
- Save the Signature.
After you begin composing the email in Gmail, Yahoo Mail or others it
will either automatically enter the signature or you can manually click
the stamp to enter the signature. You can create separate signatures
for "Personal" and "Business" use. You can modify the options by
clicking the WiseStamp icon --> Edit Signature --> Click the
Settings tab to make the changes.
Important features for WiseStamp:
- It provides a Rich Text editor to edit your signatures (WYSIWYG Editor).
- Add personal feeds (RSS) and logos.
- Supports all webmail functions such as Compose Mail, Reply and Forward
- Simple signature switch, where you can turn on or off easily.
How to add signature in Safari, Chrome, Internet Explorer browsers?
WiseStamp
unfortunately is available only for Firefox browser but there are other
signature tools that work with a wide variety of browsers. Here is one
of them, GeekFg Signature Bookmarklet tool.
- First visit the site here and enter your details
- You can enter your blog, website, social network, instant messenger address etc, but have to insert the links manually here.
- After you enter the details click "Go Step 2"
- It will create a unique "Signature", which you have to drag and drop it to the Bookmarks Toolbar.
- After you compose the email, when you click the "Signature" Bookmarklet in the Bookmarks Toolbar, it will enter the signature in your email.
- You can add this Bookmarklet in Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox and other browsers.
There are other signature tools in the web, but I find these two useful for a wide variety of browsers.

Signature in emails? That's new. :) Your sample looks like a business calling card. I guess it's more useful for marketing. :)
