In celebration of SpongeBob Squarepants’ 10^th year anniversary, The Toy Headquarters (THQ) has now released a video game called “SpongeBob’s Truth or Square,” titled identically after the movie. It is an action/adventure video game created by Heavy Iron Studios, and is dubbed to be the “ultimate SpongeBob game ever.”

In this game, players will get to experience the crazy and exciting undersea adventures of Bikini Bottom, not just with SpongeBob, but with the whole cast as well. Truth or Square will also take you on a walk down memory lane and pay another visit to some of the most unforgettable moments throughout the whole series. Though the video game mainly caters to young gamers, everyone is sure to have loads of fun having a go at it.

In Truth or Square, Mr. Krabs, owner of the Krusty Krabs, appointed SpongeBob to guard the secret formula of the Krabby Patty, the most famous burger – or SpongeBob’s version of it – in Bikini Bottom. Unfortunately, SpongeBob lost the formula, and has to look for it before Krusty Krab’s Eleventy Seventh anniversary comes.

In a strange twist of events, SpongeBob teams up with Plankton – Mr. Krab’s longtime rival who has always wanted to steal the secret formula – on his quest to find the missing formula. He also has to use Plankton’s memory machine to recall the most memorable events in his life to get to the secret formula.

Some of the “10 Happiest Moments of SpongeBob’s Life” featured in the game are when SpongeBob and Sandy the Squirrel first became friends, and when SpongeBob became a fry cook at the Krusty Krab. Aside from the main cast, a few special characters also make their appearances, like Mrs. Puff - Spongebob’s driving teacher – and the ghost of the Flying Dutchman.

SpongeBob is also given an ability to shape shift, and players can change him into a spatula, a propeller, or a sledgehammer, whenever they need. He can even morph into a cannon to blow up some villains. He can be made to absorb – he is a sponge after all – and shoot water down on enemies and some booby traps as they make their way through 10 levels.

SpongeBob's Truth or Square will take you around the places such as in Jellyfish Fields, the Krusty Krab, and even Rock Bottom, where you can unlock more roads to take you to other locations. At each level, players will encounter a superboss. Superbosses are oversized, powerful villains that are very hard to beat, and defeating them will let you move up one level.

An added bonus to Truth or Square is that it features a two-player cooperative (co-op) gameplay, where two players can play at the same time, helping each other finish the game. A friend can now join in the fun as Plankton and help the other player, as Spongebob, throughout the game.

Young gamers will not have any trouble playing the game either at home or on the go, because Truth or Square is available on different consoles, such as in Wii, Xbox 360, PSP, and DS.

Whether or not you’re the biggest fan or you just find SpongeBob too cute, Truth or Square is a game that will get you hooked, not just because of the unique storyline behind the new adventure, but because it’s just downright fun.
