Another of Gary Lee’s passionate dreams is coming into fruition. That is the construction and opening of The Sport Karate Living History Museum
Gary
said” The museum will be the last event that I will work on ,I have
collected the finest minds in the world as History Generals to help do
the documentation and history analysis of our sport and when we are
though it will be a fun, entertaining ,educational and informative site
for the family or the hard level traditionalist.”
When asked to
pick one out of his many stories and and his absolute favorite he was
very quiet for a moment ,looked up at the camera and said “ I do have
one that is always with me and it happen along time ago.”
Persons have come up to me at events though out the nation and asked how it all started , you know the idea of a Museum for Sport Karate and the pioneers who started it all in the early fifties,that would make Sport Karate sixty{60} years old !, lots of stories , lot's of pictures, lots of memories for the fans of sport Karate.
Well here is how it all started,

What do you get when you combine a Black Belt test, a celebrity roast of one of the most popular Black Belt Players around, super seminars by your favorite pioneers of the sport Martial arts Demostrations, a dinner and banquet, a awards show, two parties, plus a reunion of over thirty sport karate legends?
You get a martial arts extravaganoa known as Professor Gary Lee's Living Legends Black Belt Nationals. Everyone who missed this event held September 25,1999 in Houston, Texas missed a landmark event .The name "LIVING LEGENDS" was appropriate for many of us that were there, since it was chance to meet and talk with Black Belt Legends who we had only heard of previously.
Professor Gary Lee is an international karate champion, a National Black Belt League World Champion, master swordsman, a writer for many martial arts publications, a Black Belt Hall of Fame inductee, and a historian of sport karate. He was also a professional stuntman for many of Hollywood’s favorite martial arts films. He now devotes his intention to Black Belt TV, a martial arts network he helped create in 2005 and The Sport Karate Living History Museum.which he is help building in Sugar Land, Texas
