Last but not least is to make sure that your headphones have enough cord length and preferably that its adjustable. You don't want a cord that so long it'll easily get caught on things you're running by but you also need a cord length that allows for a wide rang of movements. Usually I go for a longer cord length and then adjust from there. One of the quickest and easiest ways to keep the cord out of the way is to run it from the headphones underneath your shirt to your pocket or wherever your keeping your player.
