Going Rogue: An American Life Puts Palin Back in the Spotlight

Harper (an imprint of Harper Collins) spokeswoman Tina Andreadis announced in late September the new November release date for Sarah Palin's memoirs. Originally slated for a spring 2010 launch, Going Rogue will hit the shelves in time for the 2009 Christmas shopping season.

See the full story on the revved up release date, with publisher comments and praise for Palin, in Going Rogue: An American Life Release Bumped Up.

Palin took a beating in the press during and immediately following the 2008 election. Regardless of the opinions of political and media pitbulls, she has a dedicated following amongst the American public; Palin's Facebook fan page boasts over 930,000 supporters (current October 21, 2009).

The Climb to the Top- And Those Who Still Try to Tear Her Down

Palin guides readers through her earlier years in Alaska, meeting the love of her life, and her unique perspective on American politics.

Her journey as John McCain's 2008 Vice Presidential candidate created a media uproar; Going Rogue: An American Life is an introspective, revealing look at the other side, from the perspective of a working mother and a woman of faith.

While Palin enjoys the support of many fervent fans, her detractors can be especially vicious. This NY Daily News article, 'Going Rogue' spoof (October 21, 2009), warns of a spiteful and sometimes cruel parody to be released the same day as Palin's memoirs. Going Rouge replaces the blue sky behind Palin with an ominous storm. The subtitle comes not after the title, but after Palin's name, so the cover reads, "Sarah Palin- An American Nightmare."

Going Rouge is not actually a spoof or a lighthearted parody; it is a collection of essays about Palin- essays that could prove embarrassing or worse when released the same day as her memoirs.
