Spouse immigration is a process by which a person can apply for their spouse to come into the same country as the person is residing in. The spouse can either be the man or woman as long as they are bound in the relation of marriage with each other. It may not always be possible for both of them to leave at the same time maybe due to financial deficiency. So one of them might go first and after acquiring a permanent residence, may apply for their spouse to come and prove that they are now able to afford a family with all the basic expenses such as shelter, food and other basics as well.

A country may have its own unique requirements and conditions to allow for the immigrations. Some may require a person to spend a specified amount of time before they may apply for the immigration. Some may not have a minimum residence time but maybe a condition of minimum income which the government may consider acceptable as an amount that is needed to live a basic and simple life for a small family of two and some children if applicable. The point being that the countries may have different rules which could be based on the environment and conditions of the country and its economy power.
