It was John Owen who, in the 17th century, said “Be killing sin or it will be killing you” in his book “The Mortification of Sin”.

What does that have to do with spyware killer software? Well, simply put in Owen's words, “Be killing spyware before it will be killing you and your computer.” Because, in truth, if you don't get rid of spyware on your computer it will infect it more and more until it is rendered pretty useless and you will get whatever you need to do done faster with a pen and paper and filing cabinet.

There are three types of spyware, some that could be considered 'mortal' and some that are not. Spyware is actually a broad jargon term for all three, which include malware, adware and spyware.

Adware is really just “advertising software” which is any kind of software, whether legit or not, that provides commercials on your desktop or internet browser or anywhere else. Even Google or AOL   can be considered adware by its true definition.

However, when we refer to “adware spyware” we mainly mean adware that has insidiously infected your computer like a virus, covertly, and intends to bombard you with adverts. Nomatter what you are doing, where you are, or how you are feeling it will flash banners and popups until you are ready to throw the screen out in frustration.

Spyware, by its true definition, is “spy software” which, as its name implies, is software that spies on you. Obviously, it doesn't just look and record what you are doing for fun. The goal is to send what it records to someone else – who is probably looking to sell the information.

You may not care if someone in cyberspace knows you use Windows and browse certain websites. However, you would care if they stole your passwords, logons, or even banking details through software they created to install itself on your computer without your consent. And that is what spyware does.

Malware, which is short for “malicious ware”, can be harmless as well or, as its name implies, malicious. Malware might just be the beginning for spyware, meaning it just opens the door for other programs to come in. It could also try and take over your computer and separate a portion of your hard drive for itself, so that it could even use this portion for peer-to-peer file sharing. For all you know, people in the world are downloading all sorts of things from your computer even using your bandwidth. And that's what malware can do.

So, the solution? Well, the mortification of spyware. A spyware killer, that's what you need. Spyware killers know how spyware works, know how spyware hides, and know how to expose and root that evil right out of your system.

Virus checkers are usually not efficient spyware killers, as their job is to target viruses (specifically) and can often get the diagnosis wrong when it comes to spyware. The best solution is a complete and reliable spyware killer.
