Squidoo Vs Hubpages. Is Squidoo better than Hubpages? Find out which one is better?

As we all know, Both Hubpages and Squidoo are amazing online community web page creation tools that offer a variety range of web accessories, attractive gadgets and revenue elements. A page on Squidoo is called a lens. A page on HubPages is called a Hub. A Hubpages member is called a Hubber whereas a Squidoo member is called a Lensmaster. Both are free to join and quite simple and easy to use. You can create your own webpage and share it with the world with a click of the mouse.

Modules and Capsules

Modules and Capsules are additional accessories provided by Squidoo and Hubpages to create and organise your web page. A "module" on Squidoo is called a "capsule" on HubPages. A module or capsule could either be a page element such as a text, link, photo or News column, or it could be a revenue element such as Google adsense link, eBay or Amazon product ads

Though modules and capsules provide their own unique functional in both Squidoo and Hubpages, there aren’t as many capsules on HubPages as modules on Squidoo, but still good enough to make a good web page with optimal features. If you are a Hubber, you would certainly support Hubpages and if you are a lensmaster you would obviously vote for Squidoo. One would certainly agree that the design aspects and presentation features of Squidoo are better than that of Hubpages due to the wide and attractive screen interface . Neverthless, both provide wonderful features to share information and make attractive income

Ratings are given to both Squidoo lenses and Hubpages based on the quality of content. Ratings enable visitors to check the quality of your webpages. Hub ranking is determined by "Hubscore" whereas Squidoo is determined by "Lensrank"

Affiliate Revenue Generation

Like most web domains, both Squidoo and Hubpages allow provision for a wide range of affiliate programs. Both Squidoo and Hubpages allow members to display Google Adsense ads on their pages. Both Squidoo Hubpages display Google adsense Ads by default. You can also display eBay and Amazon ads on both Hubpages and Squidoo. Other standard features include user comments, links, news and images. Hubpages offers Kontera Ads on all hubs by default. You need not manually implement Kontera Ad code through HTML.

Referral Rewards

Squidoo offers $5 for referring new members. Hubpages offer a much extravagent referral incentive. Once you have referred a member through your referral link, you will 10% of their ad revenue on a permanent basis. On an overall perspective, if you wish to share your web contents in the online community and generate substantial affiliate revenue, I would suggest that you join both Hubpages and Squidoo and later optimise the settings to make your pages popular

Squidoo vs Hubpages.  Which is better?

Merits and Demerits of Hubpages and Squidoo: As much as the benefits offered, Hubpages and squidoo have their own merits and demerits as well, when compared with each other. For example, as far as visitor traffic generation is concerned, sites created using Squidoo, i.e "lenses", offer a little more professional look when compared to hubs created using Hubpages. Further, squidoo offers a wide range of customized site designing features viz, fonts, links, headings etc. In contrast, Hubpages' design features are more standardized. However, Hubpages offers easy navigation facilities for visitors and access to links. As far as affiliate revenue is concerned, Hubpages offers better revenue optimization, due to additional Google Adsense ad palettes.

Anyway, the SEO(search engine optimization) ranking for sites created using both Hubpages and Squidoo are roughly the same. Both tools offer very good traffic to articles created using them. Both have very good ranking on major search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN.

As far as security features are concerned, my vote would go to Squidoo. I am particular with this because, when you happen to delete a Lens from your account on Squidoo, you will be prompted for a password for security reasons to ensure whether the user on the computer is actually the owner of the account. However, Hubpages doesn't have such a provision.

Nevertheless, both are wonderful tools to publish websites online free of cost and at the same time, make a fair amount of money through your work.

It is difficult to decide which one is better. I think it could be a good approach to use both of them.
