...direct traffic from the search engines, you can add as many tags as you wish to divert peoples searches to your sites or squidoo lenses, the key to this is updating your lenses frequently, like you would a normal website and also promoting it like you would a normal web site/page.

I myself have a few squidoo lenses and one of the best things about having these lenses is they earn for you the more you update them and keep them interesting, and there are numerous earning opportunities to plug into your lenses, Amazon, Ebay, Cafepress and many more.

Any interest that you have it is better to have it shown to the world than just on some shelf in your brain, squidoo is almost like here, a place were you can share, a place were you can be seen if you wish to be, as a businessman or just an all obsessive hobbyist.

My lenses are either one of 2 things they are focused or unfocused, but that is the best bit at squidoo you don't need any real knowledge of html coding to make your lenses stand out, but later on down the line you may need to pick up the basics to make your lenses better.

You can always come back to an unfocused lens another day, anyway go and do some creating of lenses....

Also if you treat your lenses as actual websites that can compliment your main website in some way then you can also link to blogs and create a network of links all going out to relevant content.

Advertising on squidoo is allowed but you have to add valuable content or something that is going to be of use to other people visiting your hub,blog or lens, as the spam nazi's are cutting down on the junky content that is littering these websites and the internet and quite rightly so too, because if similar sites like social networks and blogging places did the same it would make the internet a more easier place to find the right information.

Squidoo is a place like every other place that is there soley for the people who may have an interest or even a passion to spread the word on their favourite subjects and even show that they are experts in their specialized field and of course like it should be it's free, so that anyone has a chance of making some cash at least, even if they have no real marketing experience online.

The best tip I can add here is that it's best not to sell, sell, sell all the time as people get bored of that and lose interest, it's best to write about something that really gets you interested to write it in the first place, when I first started out there I was all sell sell sell, but at least you are given the chance to refine your content and re-arrange it so that you can improve upon it and that's what I have done.

By constantly updating and refining your blogs,lenses or hubs pages you are and will stand a good chance of being considered an expert in whatever you write about.
