Stainless steel pots and pans

Stainless steel pots and pans are not only a beautiful addition to your home or apartment's kitchen, but also may help you to be a better cook and produce more delicious food for your family. You can check online stores to find the absolute best deals on stainless steel pots and pans.

Stainless steel pots and pans add a bright and shiny look to your kitchen, and are also useful in your cooking: Stainless steel is non-reactive and therefore won't add any taste or react with the food you cook. This makes them better than cast iron or aluminum in some cases since, for example, highly acidic foods like tomato sauce will take on a bad flavor from iron or aluminum. In a steel dish, you'll never taste the metal in your food!

You typically can choose to buy stainless steel pots and pans as a set or individually. The advantage of a set is that each pan is typically much cheaper than buying the same pan separately. If you don't have any pans or are replacing your entire existing set, this may be a good option. The downside to sets is that you are stuck with the pans provided by the set, and don't have any flexibility in your choices. Individual pans may be a bit more expensive, but at least you can create the set that meets your cooking needs. One idea is to buy a set and sell the pans from the set that you don't need on ebay or craigslist. For expensive cookware, you probably can get a decent price by selling these individual pans.

Stainless steel pots and pans do have a few challenges. The first is that when frying or sauteing, it can be easy for food to stick to the pan. This means that unlike a pan with antistick coating, you may need to cook with a bit of oil, water or butter to avoid your food sticking to the stainless steel pots and pans. This leads to the second challenge of a stainless steel pot or pan: They can be difficult to clean, especially if some food gets cooked onto them. You'll also want to be careful about what you clean them with since you don't want to scratch their beautiful chrome finish. You can avoid scratching your stainless steel pots and pans by not using metal cookware in them, and also by cleaning them with a plastic cleaner or sponge, and never anything abrasize like scotchbright or steel wool. Treated well, your stainless steel pans should last you for years and should never discolor or rust like lesser quality pans.

Search online to find the best deals for your stainless steel pots and pans. Reputable brands include All-Clad and Calphalon.
