I suppose by posting this memory, I will most definitely be giving away my age! Shaun Cassidy...They just didn't come any dreamier! I was absolutely madly, deeply in love with Shaun Cassidy, for years. He was 9 years my senior back then, guess he still is. But what did that matter? I believe i was around 12 years old, when "Hardy Boys came to my town to film the show. The rest is history.

I lived very close to Cabrillo Beach, which happened to be famous for having movies filmed there. When I found out that Hardy Boys would be filming right down the street from me, it was all over, I was about to become a criminal of the worst kind!

You see, Hardy Boys, although i was truly addicted to the show, was not what I was after. I was solely after Shaun, pretty blue-eyed Shaun Cassidy. I had it bad for this guy, and I would stop at nothing to get his autograph. If my memory isn't failing me, it was a Sunday afternoon and I was stuck home cleaning my room and doing other chores. Out of nowhere it came over my radio loud and clear, it was magical. The announcer stated that Shaun Cassidy would be signing autographs for only 30 minutes in San Pedro. What? 30 minutes? I had to act quick!

I ran downstairs to tell my mom and dad that I was going to go to Cabrillo Beach real quick to get Shaun's autograph. No word from them, just a glare. They simply did not understand, this was a matter of life or death, this autograph! Life meaning that theirs would be happy and calm if they let me go, and death meaning that is what they would wish for, if they didn't!

They must have had a death wish, because my pops said no, firmly and loudly. I gave it about 20 minutes before I pulled the old "stuff the pillows under the blanket" trick. Out the window I went! I felt so liberated, so free and so at a lost for not only words but direction.

After asking several security people how to find Shaun, I saw it...The Star Trailer! It was Shaun Cassidy's trailer, he was in it, he had breathed in it, he had went to the bathroom in it and best of all, he had slept in it! I arrived to my destination at last. I would have that autograph to take back to school. I would make all the other girls in school cry because I had Shaun Cassidy's signature on a piece of...paper? Oh NO! No paper!

That is ok, I work fast, I would find a piece of paper, and a pen. After several humiliating minutes of digging through a trash can looking for a blank piece of paper, i set off to find Shaun. I kept singing "Da Do Run Run" over and over again, as it seemed to make my legs move faster somehow.

I got to the trailer and no Shaun. That's alright I will wait, forever if I have to. My crumpled piece of paper was just waiting to have his glorious hands touch it. Hours went by, no Shaun. It was starting to get dark and I knew I was in big trouble now. I had to head home with no signature from Shaun Cassidy, after telling every 13 year old in my school, that I had it. What is a girl supposed to do?

I signed Shaun Cassidy's name, pretty nicely too I might add. Not only did i sign his name, I made it say, "TOO: Erinn, the prettiest girl I have ever met, LOVE: Shaun Cassidy". Perfect, I was set. I attempted to sneak back into the house...unsuccessfully though. Once in my room, taken by the ear, my dad said to me, "What were you thinking?", I responded back to him that I had to have this autograph!.

Of course my dad wanted to see the autograph. Why me? was all I could think. I showed him and he simply said that Shaun should learn how to spell correctly, if he was going to be such a star! Apparently "Shaun" spelled TO: wrong. This was the first time I had ever had a REAL spanking.

Great story, Erinn! My sister always had a copy of Tiger Beat magazine and it seemed like he was always on the cover.
