Star Wars LEGO Sets and Figures
The LEGO Group began producing Star Wars LEGO sets in 1999 when they signed an agreement with LucasFilms to do so. This partnership has proven to be a great idea for both companies as Star Wars LEGOs have been extremely popular with fans. This has caused a crossover of fans from LEGO to Star Wars and from Star Wars to LEGO.
One of the favorite ways to collect LEGO sets based on Star Wars is to collect just the LEGO figures that come with these sets. LEGO mini figures have always been popular among LEGO fans. Collectors enjoy the block look of these little people with their accessories like weapons, armor, and even horses to ride on. Another reason fans collect LEGO minifigs is that it is possible to remove heads, arms, hands, and legs and mix and match them with each other.
Star Wars LEGO mini figures have proven to be even more desirable to LEGO fans. Star Wars characters are very popular and the conversion to LEGO figures has collectors scrambling to get their hands on these minifigs. Star Wars minifigures have been created by LEGO to have the likeness of characters from the movie and to also have the accessories that come with them. This has not been easy to do for LEGO as there are so many different characters in the films of different sizes and different aliens.
One of the most sought after Star Wars LEGO Mini figure is the LEGO Jango Fett. Jango Fett appears in only one Star Wars LEGO set, Jango Fett's Slave I and is therefore very difficult to come by. This is a great example of rare LEGO mini figures and the prices these items can end up costing.
