Star Wars Legos are a subset of Lego's based on the six Star Wars movies. The first Star Wars legos were produced in 1999 and featured characters and ships from the original Star Wars trilogy. Some of the earliest Star Wars legos produced included the X-Wing fighter, the Millenium Falcon, the landspeeder and the snowspeeder. The Star Wars Lego line would go on to become one of the most popular Lego subsets ever. As new Star Wars movies were released, new Star Wars Legos figures and sets were also released and now include most of the popular characters, droids and ships from all six movies.

As the popularity of Legos Star Wars products grew, spin-off items were created. There are websites devoted to Star Wars legos, there are super high quality sets known as the Lego Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series and even video games based on Star Wars legos. There are also comic strips, magnets, pens and more items all bases on the Lego Star Wars line. A few of the more complicated sets including newer versions of the lego Milleniium Falcon and the Death Star have several thousands of pieces and take 10+ hours to assemble! Star Wars legos are not falling off in popularity either, so look for more exciting lego sets in the future based on the Star Wars movies.
