Starting A Home Based Business Online Can Be Costly If You Aren't Aware Of Some Of The Pitfalls.

OK, OK, I admit it. I fell into more than one trap when starting my home business online. My excuse is the same as many before me and many more to come, and that's not knowing any better. I had no one to point me in the right direction.

I went in blind and clueless.

Stumbling along as I did, I knew that the Internet was the answer for me. Starting a home based business online was the solution I was looking for.

I jumped in with both feet and got on a bunch of mailing lists and subsequently was drowning in offers of instant riches, making millions in a month or thousands over the weekend.

I was selective but still managed to get sucked in and spent a fortune for what seems like a zillion programs.

Some of the training courses were excellent but you know what..at that time I learned the most from the ones offered for free! Amazing, I couldn't believe it myself!

Anyway, back to the pitfalls you need to avoid:

1. Do your best to find a mentor, someone who has done all this before and who is willing to guide you, helping you to save lots of time, effort and money.

2. When you do find a mentor, stay focused and don't be distracted by every other offer that comes along because it will keep you from completing anything.

I got caught in this trap big-time. I tried any number of programs offered by different people. Everyone had a bit of a different slant on things and it was enough to almost paralyze me with inactivity. I was sooooooo confused and frustrated.

3. Don't give up. You might be frustrated and even confused until you find the path you want to follow but keep focused on what your goal is and then do the work and put in the time necessary to make it happen.

You can learn a great deal with some of the free tutorials out there. I found that the successful people provide a lot of value for free.

Be realistic and understand that you will eventually have to pay to get more advanced trainings and support.

Respect those who have spent thousands of dollars and often years, becoming the experts they are. However, developing your own home based business online is far less expensive that starting a traditional business

You can learn from my journey at Attractionnetworker.com

I have a simple little video there you might find amusing, yet it explains something very powerful: Attraction Marketing. The video is called "Attraction Marketing and Cockatoos"

Starting a home based business online is a great way to spread your wings, learn new things, make new friends, work when you want to and make money all from the comfort of home.

Avoid the pitfall of believing that someone else will make you successful. You and you alone are responsible for your success. No one else is going to build your business for you. don't believe that one for a "New York minute"!

However, this does not mean that you have to do it alone. Find an internet marketing or online business coach, stay focused, avoid all the hype and begin creating your own success.

Well said Deborah! Fortunately for me I found Ann Sieg almost as soon as I went online which led me to Mike Klingler's Renegade University.

However I have heard tons of stories like yours! People go online in good faith and end up $1000s of dollars in debt! Isn't it ironic that some of the best advice is offered free of charge! That way you get to know what you are getting into without emptying your pocket book on empty promises.

Love your Hub Deborah because most people who come on line the first time will relate to it. By finding a mentor early, people can shorten their learning curve and avoid a lot of wasted time and money. They will be very lucky to find People like you who offer it straight from the hart for free.

Deb,

Without a mentor or guide, I'd be nowhere. To me, having someone to ask questions to or bounce ideas off of means you're part of a team with people you can trust to help you reach your goals.

Thanks, Becky Joubert

"Don't Give Up"

These words just jumped off the page at me. So many folks toss in the towel after a set back or two. The trick is to NEVER and I mean NEVER give up. If something doesn't work, learn from it and move on... you are simply that much closer to finding what does work!

The best way to shorten the learning curve you'll need to go thru and get your business up and running quickly is to find a mentor to guide you. Someone who's "been there and done that" and can help you to avoid the dead ends and pit falls along the way.

Remember, when we work together we ALL succeed!
