Time Off For A Cause

I took a little time off from hubbing because I was beginning to stress. I was stressing that I couldn't find a way to start a website, free!!So as I had that time off, I used Google to search every day on Domain Names. That's when I came across it. My ticket to my online business, absolutely free. I am so proud to have found this, because now I am working on my website now. Its called(or well I call it)redirecting domain names.

Redirecting Domain Names

These URL's are used for websites that are hosted with free SubDomain sites or those Domain names with unusually long URL's. These are very good for those on a abudget, during these hard times.

Example of how it works: If you have a subdomain site such as tripod, your domain name may look a little something like this:Example.Tripod.Com. Now using redirecting services may have your URL look like this, Example.Co.NR. Its very helpful to getting a start to your online business or just a personal website.

Redirecting Services

The following are a list of sites that offer redirecting services for long domain names, using already registered URL's.

Ne1.net-Ne1 is an ad free redirecting service with urls that may look like this, Name.Ne1.net or Name.R8.Org. It cloaks your original Url and uses the ne1 domain. When people type in the ne1 domain name, it will redirect to your actual url. While the site isn't popular, that means that your domain name of your choice has a larger chance of still existing.Warning:The privacy on this website is very poor, so don't give away any valuable information!!

Freedomain.co.nr-Freedomain.co.nr is a cloaking device for your url. It gives you a domain that would look a little something like this: name.co.nr. It also supports path forwarding.

Unonic(United Names Organization Free Domains)- This site allows you to get your own short domain name, free of charge, forever! You get free web stats for your site. No compulsory advertisements. It works with any service provider, forwarding is simple. Its Search Engine Optimized.

DotTK-This site is pretty simple. No ads, more visitors, free domain. Straight to the point. Just enter your domain name, and it will give you alternative names for your site.Your name may look like this: You must have a minimum of 25 visitors every 90 days to apply though.

DNSAU.com.ru-The subdomain names provided by this website will look like name.com.ru, name.net.ru, or name.org.ru. You must be 18 or older to apply for this service and already have a website.

Da.Ru Free WWW Redirecting Service-While this site may be kind of offensive to some people, it provides cloaking domains.

HotDirect-Hotdirect actually offers domain names that are longer than the average free domain service. Unless the url of your site is extremely long, I wouldn't recommend using this site. The url of your site will look a little something like this: name.hothere.com, name.coolhere.com,name.homepagehere.com, etc.

Short URL-Once again, in exchange for your long url, it provides another long url. It may be shorter, but it's pretty long. Note that this website has spam problems

Za.Org-This site gives you a free domain in the form of name.za.org or name.za.net. They won't allow commercial use, so it basically is used for non profit organizations.

WebAlias-This site doesn't work well with Internet Explorer. It's best with Mozilla FireFox. It offers three free short domain names for your website and completely hides your real url, so when people type in your short or cloaking url, it will remain there, even when they are lead to your website.

Now For Free Sub Domain sites

Can't give a free short url without first knowing where to host a free website with a subdomain. There are several websites that offer free service with a subdomain, and here's a list of them.

Tripod-Tripod is a free web hosting site that allows you to create both websites and blogs. This site lets you publish your content to the web, but it uses your user name to place it online along with the .tripod.com ending. Here's an example of how it would look: Username.tripod.com.

Wix-Let me just say that this web creating site is absolutely brilliant. Not only can you create your very own website, you can also create layouts for social networks. When you are ready to publish, you could either embed it, send it as an email, or publish it on the internet. When published, the website will look a little something like this: www.wix.com/username/sitename. This site creator uses flash, for the best looking web pages a free site could generate. The site is very professional, offering video content, music players for the visitors so they can play music from your site, photo gallery, etc.

Weebly- Weebly is a website that allows you to create website and blog. All there is to do is basically drag and paste. It's simple. not a very professional looking website though, but it works pretty well.

Webs-Not as popular as the other sites on this list, but has some very professional looking outcomes when building a website. It's good to start a business, having all that is necessary to do so.

Google Page Creator- Some people would use Google to create a website. It's good enough if you plan on making a report site or something similar.(Must have a Google account to use this feature)

Doodlekit.com- Doodlekit is a free online website builder and CMS(content management system)that allows you to build a personal or business website. Good to use by anyone, as the simple and easy to get used to. Doesn't require any installations to your computer.

Webclickgo-This site offers free hosting to all its members. Not sure if they are still doing this, I haven't used this site since June of 2008. They had problems with funds and due to strict rules by Google they began to charge people and revoked the free service in August, but said that they would return the free service. So if you want to find out, go to the website for details.

Ezweb123- this site offers free website hosting and creation. It's very easy to build a website with this service. You can create your own webpage themes or use the professionally pre done webpages offered by the service.

  • Easiest Website Creator-There is a website that allows you to create webpages easily. While you can't publish it on that site, you can download the site and publish it on another site. It has everything that most site creators have. It even supports Google Adsense, so you can earn money from it. This site is idea for other sites that don't have Google Adsense widgets(unless Google denies usage of Adsense on that particular site). The website is called Synthasite.com

Free Web Traffic

Whats a free web site if you have no traffic? If you are going to make a business, free of charge, why not get customers, free of charge?

Adgridwork-Adgridwork is a free advertisement website that allows you to create free ads for your website or blog. It lets you edit the color and content of your ad, even allows you to edit the url of your site. You can type something that is similar to your real url. This is great if you have a subdomain. Say for example if your url is example.subdomain.com, you can place on your ad example.com,example.org,example.net,etc.You can review the amount of impressions and clicks you received. It hosts your ads on their site, along with advertising on other users sites. You must advertise their ads in order for them to advertise your ads on others sites.

Forums- Forums are always good ways to advertise your site. Using search engines can find forums relevant to your subject. Most forum sites allow you to freely advertise your website, while others allow you to place your url into your name, so when people click on your name, they will be redirected to your website.

Thanks for the info.

I am paying $30 for a site that is not producing.  I have to decide whether to keep this up, or see if I can re-route the domain name to another free website area, to keep the backlinks and ranking I have developed.

This is an excellant idea to do, You get a domain name, even if you buy, use a free web hosting service, with the name re-routed. Then once the site gets up and starts making money, you look at moving it by buying a site hosting sevice where you can grow it.

Thanks.  There's all kind of tricks.

Thanks for the info. For now I plan on using free tricks until my site gets a good amount of traffic, then I will buy a domain name to continue my business. Even though redirecting domain names can bring in good traffic, the best traffic comes from purchased names. This is for those on a budget

You can buy a doman name from godaddy for like 7 - 8 dollars for the year. Website hosting is the big dollar amount. $20-30 a month.
