Whose Union?

President Bush sounded like he was selling the store on his way out of office. In his last breath, he told Congress to give Americans and soldiers money, that the soldiers are eventually coming home, and he reminded Congress to "protect our interest in the Persian Gulf." Do you think he was talking about oil here?

I almost lost my dinner when he brought up world hunger. This from a guy who ran and hid when one of our states was threatened to be wiped from our earth. This government can't even feed its own people. He also asked Congress to pass his wire-tapping bill.

If that bill passes, you won't have to worry about "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" because the military members will use the technology to ferret you out of service.

Bush ended his speech by telling the enthusiastic crowd that he trusted the "people (of 'We the People') to maintain a strong state of the Union as usual." Meaning: Keep the equal rights out of the hands of the minorities, including we, the gays and lesbians. All in all, Bush W. really didn't impress anyone with his accomplishments over the past eight years.

The Democratic response didn't offer up any guidance about how to turn things around for us. Democratic governor of Kansas, Kathleen Sebelius, recapped everything Bush did wrong, and this was backed by Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama.

However, Clinton and Obama did manage to use the air time to suggest who would be better for the job on the Democratic site of the arguments. Clinton has more experience, and Obama has stronger backers.

My prediction for the upcoming elections is that Obama will take office of the president because he will be a perfect puppet for the Whitehouse writers. Clinton is an opinionated and smart woman, and no matter how you slice that, there is only one word for a self-sufficient, assertive and bright woman in America, and that word is bitch.

So like I've been saying, Democrat or Republican: it just doesn't matter. The words gay and lesbian did not pass the lips of anyone during or after the State of the Union Address.
