Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone
63Stepping out
Recently I was asked to share about my year and some of the things that made my year. Truthfully I wasn't really sure what I could say about my year. I know it was eventful but wasn't really sure what I could say that was really of any value. So the weeks were passing and time was coming and I still didn't have a clue what to say. I was starting to stress but I knew it would come to me if I was just patient and prayed and asked God to direct me on what to say. Needless to say my friend Dorsi and I were at the store picking up a few things for dinner that we were going to make for another friend of ours. As I was walking out of the store I ignored the people that were sitting out front asking for donations for the holidays because I had already given and at the time I didn't have any money on me at the time. But I heard hey hey and it got louder. I finally turned around to see what they wanted. It turned out they were the guys we ministered to on Thanksgiving morning. I called Dorsi back over to say hi. They remembered me, which to me was a big shock considering I was in different clothing than when I saw them last. The guys were so happy to see us. I couldn't figure out why. But the one guy I was talking to said I remember you because you got up and did a song in body worship for us. Amazingly enough he was showing me some of the moves of the song and was singing the song. That was really awesome for me. It was awesome because in learning this song to do I was stepping out of my comfort zone and thinking what good is it really? What is it going to do? Well it did something that Thanksgiving day of 2008.
What Did It Do
As much as I thought it wasn't really going to do anything to do this. I did it anyway. Talking to the guys at the store that day after we saw them and they remembered me. I was amazed. It made me feel really good. The guys were telling us that when people come there they usually just feed them and leave. We spent a few hours and did a church service with them and fellow shipped with them. It made me feel good that day. I stepped out of my comfort zone, not knowing or expecting anything. Instead of feeling overwhelmed and scared I felt good about what we did that day. They told us how they wanted to have us come back again. As we were leaving that day they started to sing the song and do the movements and we got some ladies in the parking lot singing to. It was amazing. So this was my blessing. It felt good knowing that I stepped out of my comfort zone and helped someone.

jenster, excellent hub.
Stepping out of our comfort zone is the way to have more of what we want, or to give more of what we have to give. If you keep doing it, you will see how easy it becomes, and how much life will pay you back.
Thanks for this hub, it gave me inspiration
