Apple CEO Steve Jobs recently told Time magazine if Al Gore decides to run for President of the United States, he would definitely win. However, Jobs also thinks Gore might not run because of past experience and the voting system.

In a conversation with Time magazine, Apple chief Steve Jobs says he feels strongly that Al Gore, the former Vice President of the United States, should run in the upcoming Presidential election.

If Gore chooses to run, Jobs says he would likely have no problem winning a national election. Jobs said:

If he ran, there's no question in my mind that he would be elected. But I think there's a question in his mind, perhaps because the pain of the last election runs a lot deeper than he lets most of us see.

Jobs says he thinks Gore is likely not announcing his candidacy due to his prior experience when he ran against George Bush and lost because of election problems in Florida.

Gore joined Apple’s Board of Directors in 2003, and analysts and he may have influenced the company's environmental policies to help recycle parts.

Gore also led the committee that investigated Apple’s recent stock options scandal involving Jobs, where both Jobs and Apple management were cleared of any wrongdoing.

Some critics have questioned Gore's involvement in the investigation (being a board of director himself), to which Gore replied: “That’s silly”.

If Gore does decide to run, I think he would have a strong presence in the Democratic primaries. It is a perfect opportunity for him. And why would he campaign as an independent crusader for global warming and other causes when he could get more done as president of the United States.

Do you agree with Steve Jobs' opinion? if Al Gore runs will he win the next election?

Unfortunately I don't know alot about american politics. However, Al Gore's commitment to Global Warming awareness is enough to win my vote.

Yes, I agree, but many Bush supporters hate him, I just don't understand their hate. He will be a far better president than Bush. But I hope he runs and decides quickly, so far he has been non committal.

That's alright. Steve Jobs also said that the Segway would revolutionize the world and it turned out to be a very expensive damp squib. He knows his computers and animation though! :)

I agree with Jobs that Al Gore would likely win a presidential bid. No one else in the running has his experience in politics. No one else has his credibility to move our nation and our world forward toward solving the climate crisis. No one else has the experience of having run a successful campaign and winning the office as he did in 2000. His current positives (Nobel Prize Nomination, Academy Award, reputation as a crusader to save the planet, organizer of Live Earth, etc.) far outweighs any negatives.

Steve Jobs is no slouch for thinking things through and understanding many of the pulses our society responds to. If he says something is likely, I would believe it.

Our country needs Al Gore and I do hope he chooses to run.
