54Calling Leads! The biggest Lie of All!
Calling Leads! The biggest Lie of All!
When I first started out I was told by my upline that if I wanted to be successful I must treat my business like a "real" business and invest in buying leads. I was told that the more I invested the faster by business would grow. Now I had a very limited budget so, I could only start with $500 a month. The idea was to invest the money and re-invest the profit and I did this for several months. Here is how we were taught to work our leads.
#1. Call the leads several times a day until you get someone on the phone, if necessary dial *67 before dialing the number so this way the person would answer the phone since they couldn't tell that it was you calling.
#2. Stick to the script!!!!
#3. Always remember, the more No's you get the closer you are to a Yes!
#4. NEXT When someone hangs up on you or yells at you, just say to yourself "next" and keep dialing.
If you didn't sign people up, it was YOUR fault because you must not be following the script or calling enough leads.
If you don't mind, I would like to address a question that many people ask. How could someone be so stupid as to go broke on advertising? I mean some people go $10 to 20K in debt. How can this happen?
It works like this.
You are taught that you need to invest to grow your business.
So you charge, let's say $1000 on your credit card. And you say to yourself, no problem I'll just pay my card back when I get my business check.
So you get your check and you are reminded by your up-line that if you don't keep your advertising going you will loose momentum. So you take that money and don't pay back your card.
The next month, your check is only $800 so you put a few hundred on your card.
Do you get the idea?
Please hear me when I say, Your lack of success is NOT your fault. Yes, you can grow a business without spending money on advertising. I can show you how.
