Stillness and Silence
60Stillness and Silence
~on a cold dark night
~in a long Winters stare
~they can see in
~I not out
~what awaits outside
~fear to face down
~freedom over moving shadows
~courage to open the door with a smile
~the knob clicks the hinge moans
~a fire is kindled within
~movements illusive afar as I blink
~familiar voices scatter in the wind
~my perception a whispering lie
~the speaking silence calls
~truth held beyond sight
~I come to the place of stillness and peace

DeBorrah:
Thanks for being the 1st one to read this, I just wrote it last night as the wind was blowing hard and things were strange outside, so I got the 1st line and wrote from there.
Sitting in stillness and silence is something I do often and it stays with me during the day.

Beautiful!
I truly hope that this place of stillness & peace is what you're looking for.
I wouldn't dare interrupt you.
I'll wait for your call, whenever you feel like talking to me
again, my friend.
Thanks for reading Tantrum...Glad you liked it.
The stillness and silence is something I have found and keep returning to it when I find I have moved from there. =)
It is an abiding place for me.
I tried to ring you yesterday I believe it was.
Just been busy you know. =)
Getting some rest too.
~Shalom~
You are one poetic dude, my friend. Thanks for sharing your art with us.
Not bad for a truck driver...LOL...much less a drummer =D
=)
Great glimpse of the internal workings, Quietness!
I think that the things that cannot be seen that are beyond our skin are really a shadow of the things that cannot be seen beyond our 5 senses.
In other words, what is under our skin is so massively complex that it is beyond comprehension.
So it is with our mind, soul, emotions, spirit, heart etc....all these cannot be seen.

quietnessandtrust,
Thought provoking!
In this poem I sense an inner peace that comes from shutting everything out...
