Stop Cat Litter Box Odor

Cats make great pets but when they are little you do need to toilet train them. This involves having a litter box. The only problem here is that a litter box can become very smelly. So how do you get rid of litter box odor. This hub has some tips for stopping litter box odor.

How to Stop Cat Litter Box Odor

The litter box you choose for your cat needs to be big enough. Keep the litter box in a bathroom or laundry rather than a more public room.

It is best to keep a cover over the litter box.A cover is great for hiding the smell. Some litter boxes come with a cover that includes a scented vent filter at the top of the cover.

For cats that are older than eight weeks you should use a clumping litter. I recommend that you do not use scented litter.

It is a good idea having a litter box mat next to the litter box. This way your cat you remove any excess litter stuck to his paws.

Twice a day scoop out your cat's litter box twice every day. You can get litter box scoopers that have slots in them. Remove any clumps. If there is a vent in the room then turn this on and spray a scented spray.

If you cannot clean out the litter box every day then consider purchasing an automatic litter box.
