Stop Smoking Pills

It is a commonly known fact that smoking is bad for us. It destroys our lungs, it gives us a bad breath and it kills us with cancer. So, the best way to prevent all detrimental effects of smoking is to stop smoking but it is often easier said than done. Most chained smokers who are already addicted to smoking and nicotine find it difficult to kick the habit despite attempting different methods. If nicotine patches and similar methods do not work for you, I will recommend taking stop smoking pills to quit smoking biologically.

How do stop smoking pills work?

To keep things simple, stop smoking pills work by breaking your addiction to smoking. Suffice to say, most chained smokers are unable to kick the habit because they have already become so addicted to smoking. Smoking seems to give them an elevated feeling of ecstasy or "high". And the only way to break this illusory ecstasy is by influencing the nervous system so that smokers no longer feel pleasurable when they are smoking. When you smoke, nicotine travels to the brain and sticks to your brain receptors, thus triggering the release of dopamine that makes you feel "happy". Stop smoking pills break the cycle by blocking these receptors and preventing nicotine from interacting with them. Thus, smokers will not get any pleasure from smoking and will hopefully kick the habit after a while.

Stop Smoking Pills Side Effects

Of course, as with every other form of medication, there will be some undesirable side effects from the usage of stop smoking pills. Firstly, there is a risk for the development of psychiatric symptoms. I wouldn't worry too much about this one because this is a major part of your withdrawal symptoms. When you have quit smoking successfully, your body is no longer dependent on nicotine but your body will need to adjust itself to the absence of nicotine and this adjustment period is going to be painful. Next, since stop smoking pills directly attack the nervous system, it might temporarily disrupt your pleasure delivery system, causing loss of interest, mood swings and apathy.

Stop Smoking Pills - Recommendation

The two stop smoking pills that I recommend are Zyban and Chantix. Unlike Zyban, Chantix is a prescription medicine and is prescribed over a 12 week period. This pill is clinically proven to be effective. However, please consult your doctor and physician before attempting any forms of medication. They will be able to provide you specific information of these stop smoking pills.
