Stop Smoking Tips

  • Why People Smoke

The idea that smoking a cigarette will make your projects go away is an innocent idea, but in reality, it is completely incorrect. Typically, what is actually beneficial is the fact that you are able to take a few brief moments out of your life to see exactly what is going on. - 2 weeks ago

  2. About 8 hours after your last smoke the carbon monoxide level in your lungs decreases to half what it was and the oxygen level increases to a normal level

  4. About 72 hours after your last cigarette your bronchial tubes, formerly constricted by the poisonous fumes of the tobacco, have now relaxed and your energy level has increased
  5. After the first 2 weeks your circulation will improve, continuing to improve over the next ten weeks
  6. Within 10 years your lungs will have healed and your chances of getting lung cancer will be the same as a non-smoker

Why People Smoke

Lots of people smoke to deal with stress. They might have started smoking for other reasons, but they continue to smoke because it helps them relax.

When they try to stop smoking, their stress is elevated, which makes it even harder to quit.

If you smoke to deal with stress, you need to learn how to view situations not as stressful but as regular, every day occurrances. As you successfully work through problems that arise you will learn that problems do not cause stress but it's how you see the problem.

If you see the problem as something you can overcome, then your stress level goes down and it will be easier to stop smoking.

I like when you wrote "Save your money instead of giving it to tobacco companies". With the economy the way it is, saving money is a good deterrant to smoking.

Another reason to quit is if you are in a relationship with a non smoker it will definitely cause a strain as well as create barriers.
