Learn To Stop Snoring As Thousands of Others Have
You can stop snoring and bring health and happiness to your life. At best, your snoring or that of your loved one is only disturbing a good night's sleep. At worst, the condition is a symptom of obesity and an indication of sleep apnea which is a potentially dangerous condition that you should discuss with your doctor immediately.
If the chronic snorer is over weight then losing weight should be the first line of defense. Some studies have shown that losing as little as 10 pounds can stop snoring. If that is not enough then losing another 10 pounds might just do it. Keeping losing a pound here or there until the snoring stops. You will enjoy many other health benefits from losing weight as well.
Another thing the snorer should do is stop smoking and drinking before going to bed. These activities can induce snoring. Sleeping pills or anything other drug that causes the body to relax can cause snoring.
Snoring Devices
There are numerous snoring devices available but these are only bandaids that do not address the root cause of the problem They are good short-term fixes while you are in the process of losing weight or quitting smoking at night, but they should not be used indefinitely.
Snoring Surgery
Surgery is an option to stop snoring but not one I like to recommend. Surgery does not address the root cause of the problem and it's invasive. No surgery is good for the body and neither are the drugs they dope you up with. Of course, if you have exhausted all other options or if your snoring is a serious health concern and your doctor recommends surgery, then it likely should be done.
