Save Your Marriage from Snoring

I have been a snorer for my entire marriage, over 28 years. I am the type of snorer researchers call "heroic", in what must be the worst misnomer in the English language. We are called "heroic snorers" for a very unheroic reason--you can hear us snoring from the next room.

Over the years, to save my marriage, I have tried almost all the existing snoring tips. Here are the ones that work:

1. Humidifier. Cold-mist, warm-mist, it doesn't matter. Just get thee to a humidifer at once. Humidifiers ease your breathing at night in general, and they are simply a Godsend when it comes to snoring.

2. Warm Oil on the Chest. Warm olive oil and rub it on your chest before you go to sleep. It works like a charm.

3. Chamomile tea with honey and lemon. This is a fantatstic night tea for breaking up chest congestion, and reducing snoring.

4. Sleep on your side. People who sleep on their backs snore more, according to research.

5. Lose a Few Pounds. Even losing as few as 5 pounds can greatly decrease snoring because it reduces weight on your throat. It takes very little pressure on your throat to cause distress at night.
