Obvious ill-effects of pornography
WARNING!! TALK OF PORNOGRAPHY AND SEXUAL SITUATIONS ARE INCLUDED....MAY TRIGGER SOME PEOPLE!
Okay, maybe some of you who read this will totally disagree with me. That's okay. I still welcome your comments and suggestions. Please, enlighten me!
Here is the meaning of the word Pornography from an actual dictionary: –noun obscene writings, drawings, photographs, or the like, esp. those having little or no artistic merit.
No kidding, no artistic merit! It doesn't take a scientist to figure that one out. Besides being disgusting, porn movies are a disgrace to the film, screenplay, broadway, and television industries! There IS such a thing as "tasteful, artistic sex."
Remember the movie "Legends Of The Fall"? No, I'm not naming that film solely because it stars Brad Pitt (although he is so yummy). There are only a few moments of sex in this film but it is the epitomy of real, tasteful sex. At least for the public eye. The sex in the film is short and sweet. There's not a lot of nudity, but the director obviously knew what he was doing when creating that scene. It flows with the movie. It makes sense. It's reality!! And for the times (I believe early 90's) I think they even went a little "out of the box" with it. But it is totally tasteful and real! I recommend that movie to everyone (over 15 or 16, at least)!! And I'll even go as far as to say that sex scenes as in the movies Fargo or Jerry Maguire are acceptable, because they ARE reality. It happens, no kidding. We all do it. Well, most of us. And it's a beautiful, wonderful thing!!
Now let's get on with the point. I want to make sure that any men who read this know that I'm not only speaking to them. There are women out there who are just as into pornography as many men are. My issue isn't with pornography itself. If you choose to watch it (I'll make a point about that later) that is your choice. I'm okay with that. What I'm NOT okay with is the fact that our children can watch this disgusting content at nearly anytime, anywhere today!
Think about it. If you have children, imagine them watching something similar to things that YOU have done with a partner in private! Is that okay with you? I'm using the word "children" for kids under 15 years old. At age 15 and later, you're smack-dab in the middle of the sexual world by nature. That's not to say it's okay to break the law, I'm simply using that age bracket because it is in our human nature to be curious during and after puberty......aaaahhhh remember puberty? Wasn't that fun? NOT!
Anyway, back to the point. I'm sorry but I do not feel comfortable with the fact that my children may be able to watch two (and many times more than two) people doing things to each other that; first of all most people wouldn't do. Second of all it only promotes curiosity that they otherwise wouldn't have until an appropriate, mature age. I have had "the talk" with my children. They ask me anything they want and I answer (to a level that I think is appropriate for their ages, they're 10 and 11). They've been asking me these questions since they were around 8 or so when typically children start noticing those things.
I absolutely have a child-protection program on my computer that I use, but not all parents do the same. They trust their children, they allow their children to have computers in their rooms and also allow them to shut the door and spend hours inside, not having a clue what's going on. Or they just simply don't know enough about computers or the fact that they have such a program. If you watch the news, you've heard of children being caught looking at porn in libraries and schools! It might be a 15 yeard old looking at it, but there are 5-14 year olds walking by! I think today there are more regulations in that aspect, thank God, but pornography is a growing epidemic regardless.
In my opinion, "open" pornography, porn online, or on store shelves is not acceptable as it is today. There needs to be more regulation to keep predators off of our streets. Some say that it does keep predators at home instead of going out to get what they need, but is that really true? Do you believe that? I don't, not for one second! In fact I believe it does the total opposite. Porn movies cannot do much more for a "pervert" than a magazine. A predator is going to get more aroused by watching this smut all day, and what happens when THAT gets boring and isn't enough anymore? And the fact that there's more porn to look at, produces MORE predators. MORE people are getting aroused by this content and then going out and acting on it. They aren't satisfied with normal sex porn anymore so they graduate to porn that glorifies orgies, then bondage, then teenagers, and even children! Sickening, sickening, sickening!
I understand also, that men need to relieve themselves when they're aroused. I believe that NOT getting relief for most men is physically painful and mentally frustrating. I actually have pity for men in that aspect. BUT, I'm talking about the men (and some women) who cannot control their feelings under certain circumstances. Not everyone out there has a partner. Not everyone is capable of having or keeping a partner. So in their warped minds, they look for anything they can get. And as I stated earlier, they can pleasure themselves or watch porn, etc. But these people who get addicted, many times cannot control their physical impulses. So where does that leave our women and children (boys AND girls)? Raped and molested and ruined for life, or ultimately, murdered!
And who allows this to happen in the first place? Government. Just like everything else, government HAS the power to change the laws on pornography, but they refuse. I have watched several news conferences and press releases from the last few decades, of government officials stammering to make "open" pornography okay. Their excuses are no more than childish and assinine. "We are adults, we can choose what we want to watch." What is THAT? To me that just sounds like a 15 year old..."I'm 15 so I can do what I want."
Some may ask, "What is the government supposed to do about it"? I'm glad you asked. Let me first say that the government can change laws and the way Americans do things, every single day. They call for the yellow lines in the middle of the road so that you don't cross over and crash head-on with another innocent person or people. They took away our rights to use alcohol, and then took it back. They assist the military in waging WARS that last 24 hours a day, from weeks to years. They oversee NASA and the military, who take us to other planets, and can send missiles and bombs across an entire country! DO NOT tell me that they cannot control the internet.
People should have to give their name and Driver's License number to view porn. There IS a way to track information to computers, the criminal justice departments use this form of evidence every day. And if you are in the privacy of your own home, then there's nothing to be embarrassed about is there? Nobody would know you visited those sites except the company that took your information. And you wouldn't get into trouble because you'd be an adult. But, if you decide to cross the line, we know who you are. If the government cannot stop it, they can keep track of (especially) the people who post the criminal sex acts and those who watch them.
And let me just say that the content should be controlled as well. There needs to be some kind of FDA for pornography. "Normal" sexual activity in pornography should never be an issue, but the content and amount of time viewing it should be regulated as well.
I want to address some of the things that I've seen lately and I will leave you to your own conclusion. I'm an adult and I have seen some pornography. Mostly not by choice but a few times I was curious, as any other teenager. Outside of that, recently I got onto my computer (after my soon-to-be ex husband) to check my email. I always have a Spam folder for misguided emails. Just the subject lines alone made me sick, but the titles are sometimes misleading so I'd open them. One of them was offering a link to women performing oral sex on horses and dogs. Actually several of them spoke of women doing things with animals. After about 4 of those emails, I did find a website where I could report the emails (but none of them went through, go figure). But at this site before I realized the emails wouldn't get to them, it said on the website to try to get the actual address of these sites. But you have to open the links they send you, to get them. I hesitated for a few days but then was so mortified by what I read that I just went for it. I opened up three of these emails and this is what I saw: Women performing oral sex on horses, teenage girls involved in sex with many different partners (with men AND women, young and old), and worse. The two most disgusting sites that I found and actually sent to our attorney general were; young, extremely drunk girls being taken advantage of by several people, old disgusting men, anyone! The other one was the worst of all: Incest. A website based on incest! Videos of mothers and fathers doing unimaginable things to their children. I was so disgusted by this one that I simply took a Print Screen of the front page and quickly closed it. It was the worst thing I've ever seen! And who allows this? Government.
And let's visit the statistics of adults that watch pornography and get addicted. Here are some stats from a website TechMission Inc:

And let me just tell you as a molestation victim, this can change a person forever!! This ruins people. The victims are never the same again. Some may be able to get through life somehow and "deal with it", but this is one crime that NEVER let's go of it's victim. NEVER! My molester would look at porn and molest me at the same time. He'd look at it and then do things to me and my little sister. I believe 100% that if he wouldn't have had those pornographic materials to get his blood boiling, my sister and I may not have been victims.
Is it okay with you that these statistics continue to grow? I think we all need to do something to aid in the fight against "open" pornography! I'll be back in the next day or two with a petition, but until then, please leave comments.

Hi you know I honestly am not just saying this but I agree totally with everything you have said here. Real sex can not be seen in pornography, real sex has such a totally and different meaning. It is extremely scary esp child pornography and kids being able to access this crap
Women doing things with animals sounds disgusting, I believe real intimacy goes on behind close doors. When I was younger I had seen several porno movies and there wasn't any love involved and the intimacy wasn't there either, some of those women looked like they were in excruciating pain. With regards to children, I monitor our son as I do not trust anyone on the other side and many parents should do that as well. Kids pornography is absolutely disgusting and the people who write it, watch it and do it, should have their golden parts removed and should be hung by there, well that is a different sunbject, but enough is enough and it should not be so accessible to children.
I don't think that sex is a sin, or dirty and I have written articles discussing the matter and yes I have also discussed positions in a fun way, but after having a young girl read one of my articles I am looking at that in a different light, what if she was my daughter? Although she was a teenager I think that is something that parents should discuss.
Ben, Blonde, and AE:
Thanks for reading. And although I welcome any comments at all, thank you for agreeing with me.
As you've all said in a nutshell, pornography is not love and children WILL come away from it with a warped sense of romance. And we wonder why so many marriages are ending in divorce over this. Maybe because the people that are addicted to porn, expect what they learned.....
Peace out
That is the sad thing about porn as that is not what lovemaking really is, I mean the actions are there, but the intimacy and the way the heart feels ,there isn't anything that could match it. Children would definitely come away with an entirely different outlook on it , and many will end up not feeling what love really is.
You're delving into dangerous territory here. What people consider lovemaking and/or sex really depends on the person. The only importance is has on us as a society is that nobody is coerced into doing something they'd rather not do. To intrude more than that invites puritanism of the worst sort. Do you have the wisdom and understanding to truly know what someone thinks, feels and knows? That is beyond us as human beings. We can only truly speak for ourselves.
Have you considered that the people involved in the pornography business enjoy what they do? It would certainly seem so, given some of the interviews over the years. Who are any of us to say they are wrong or misguided? About the best that can be done is to allow you to avoid the sorts of things you'd rather not have anything to do with, while allowing others to do what they enjoy. What matters is that people are not forced to do what they would rather not do.
okay im sorry ledefensetech whateverr.... ur absolutely wrong... some ppl have no respect for themselves... if u were one of those ppl and someone offered u a million dollars for your body or to perform sick acts with animals u think u wouldnt do it? older ppl shouldnt even be talking becus this is a growing problem that just started getting extreme and im sure ur not affected by it... if someone wanted to watch porn and just typed in a search, even rape videos would come up.. im 16 btw... and ppl in my highschool couldnt be more clearly effected by porn. girls loose their virginity and act like whores by 8th grade and the trend with guys is to litterally treat girls like crap, and talk about big fake breasts, and porn and sex has become nothing but a pathetic competition. forget about love and intimacy...
ledefense--You are definitely entitled to your opinion and I respect that. I'm simply writing about my opinion on ths subject. I just think it needs to be regulated online, that's my main concern. Thanks so much for reading:)
Ellegirl--For such a young person you sure are a wise one. Thank you. I think it's horrible the way sex is exploited, nothing is sacred anymore. Nobody loves themselves and nobody wants to actually work for a living. It's sick and twisted in my opinion. But I always allow others their right to make their own choices. I won't judge unless you cross my boundaries, but I wish all women thought that way. It's sad isn't it? Thanks for reading and sharing your story with us. I appreciate that a lot. Hugs

Yep, it's an epidemic. I agree completely. The worst of it is that kids are bombarded so much with examples of warped romance, that some of them never truly learn what real love and real romance are supposed to be all about. It's really sad. Those statistics are very telling. Thanks for sharing.
