Stop the battle!! Simple solutions to get your kids to eat.
53Family meal time should be a pleasant experience, not one of frowns and sighs and tantrums and psychological battles!! Refusal to eat certain foods is often one of the most prominent ways in which children exert control over their caregivers. As parents we are worried that our kids will not thrive and grow so when our kids refuse to eat healthy foods it can become very stressfull. We beg and plead with them, we tell them they will lose privledges, we deny them dessert if they do not finish what is on their plate. The kids are toying with us!!!Stop the pshycological battle!! Put in front of them healthy choices at mealtimes. Tell them that this is what is being served and that if they do not eat then they will have to wait until the next meal (no dessert). Seriously it works!!! They will be very surprised that you, the parent is not making an issue out of it and they can decide for themselves if they are hungry enough to eat what is in front of them. This means allowing the kids to get hungry enough...they will eventually eat. So if they do not eat much of their dinner one night and are starving at breakfast time, they will remember this feeling the next night. My daughter is living proof that it works. Try it for a couple of days and your will be pleasantly surprised. CHEERS!!

thank you for your hub.
Great hub kellyjean, welcome to hubpages ;-)
I often use your technique with good results but I believe the best way to teach our kids eating healthy is eating healthy ourself! They always tend to "imitate" us ;-)
Yah yah, true funride. Yes they will follow your model much more than what you say.... Thanks for the comment.
