Storm surges
53A storm surge is a giant hump of water that rises above normal sea level. This is caused at the center of a hurricane because the air pressure there is extremely low and also by the high-speed rotation of the storm. The low pressure allows this water-hump to maintain itself until it hits land, where it overflows the shore destroys everything.
