We are in a constant rush to solve problems, save time and try to do everything as soon as possible, the conjunction of all those problems causes some emotional problems and stress. We need to learn ways to control our stress and release tension from our bodies, failing to do this can result in health problems.
There are several stress relaxation techniques, but im going to tell you some of the most common and useful ones for you to make the best decision.
- Imagery also known as visualization is very common and effective when its done with concentration. What you have to do is to focus your mind on images of places that you like, places with peace and beauty, you should feel happiness and be with people you love.
- Another common technique is Meditation, which is used by many people in different cultures, is used as a discipline and also by some religions. The easies way to learn it is with yoga lessons, they teach you how to relax your mind and body with meditation.
- Deep breathing can help a lot in any situation, if you are stressed you are breathing very quickly, you blood pressure is high and heart rate high, you can revere that by practicing deep breathing. Just take a deep breath hold it and then release it, this will calm you and set you ready for any situation.
- Relaxation music is one of those techniques that require a little discipline but is very effective, if you can hear relaxation music 20 minutes a day in the morning or at night it can make a great difference in you. You can also hear it when you are at work.
- Progressive Muscle relaxation is a common technique to relax that involves 2 stesp, you have to tense and relax different muscles of the body. It usualy starts from the feet to the to the face, for example you should do left foot, right foot, Hips, stomach, Chest, back, right arm, left arm, face do it slowly and with deep breathing.
- Exercise for stress relief is another very helpful way to relax. It relax your muscles, decreases the output of stress hormones, makes you feel better and many other side benefits such as sleeping better, have more energy and more.
- Massage therapy is another technique that relax the muscles of the body and your mind you can go to a spa or you can do self massage techniques.
Those are the best ones to begin, there are many other ways to relax, but just following the above ones will make a huge different in the health of your mind and body. Just so you know other technique used are messages, self hypnosis, muscular relaxation, binaural sounds, yoga and other kinds of exercises.
