Stress

Stress Coping Starategies

Stress is out body's reaction to pressure or other demands that are placed on us. There are two types of stress, good stress and bad stress. Good stress would be the kind that keeps you motivated throughout the day to achieve something , like getting your work done on time so you can make that ball game you been wanted to see. If we didn't have good stress we might not be motivated to do well on the job so we can get a paycheck or finish your household chores so you can go out that night.

Bad stress is a whole other animal. It's the kind of stress that causes you to perform badly at work and at play. This is the kind that keeps you up at night with worry, and consumes your time during the day with constant barrages of "what if's" that your body is actual degusted at the end of the day. Bad stress takes its toll on your body in the long run it can even give you serious heart problems, even death.

The amount of stress a person has depends on several things. The degree of the stress (how often and how much) and how that stressor is perceived (the mortgage payment is due if were late again the bank is going to foreclose) that would cause undue stress and be perceived as very bad.

If we don't take measures to stop these stressors and gain control of them, they can be very detrimental to our lives. It's impossible to avoid stress completely but we can learn to distribute the stress so it is a lot less likely to corrupt our lives.

Here are some examples to help you reduce stress:

  • 1. Become a time management Expert: Learn how to tell the difference between important and unimportant tasks through your work week. Know how to manage the important ones first the delegate any of the smaller tasks to others. Ask for help when possible from family members and multi task little things such as talking on the phone while doing the dishes.

  • 2. Pay close attention to your physical health: Since your body and mind work together to keep your system functioning well at the optimal levels it's important to make sure it running properly. One often things many people forget is that you need sleep healthy diet, and lots of exercise. If you balance these things each day your body will build a strong system and be able to handle those everyday stressors that come along.

  • 3. Develop Relaxation skills: Due to the fast paced world many people have forgotten how to relax. It's really in the small things you do each day that you need to focus on. Taking a small walk during your lunch hour. Listening to music and singing in the car on the way home from work, as funny as it sounds it is a great way to inhale and exe deeply relieving stress with each breath! So never mind the guy in the car next to ya, sing your way to a stress free life!

  • 4. Add humor to your life everyday: Finding the humor in everyday life can really lift your spirits and keep your emotions in check. Many studies have been done around the world that humor can actually help you live longer and keep the stress levels low. Realizing there is a silver lining can only make those roses smell that much sweeter!
