I am completely stressed out! I am so irritated! i am in a bad temper...bad mood....these are very common expressions that I get to hear from my friends, family and others. We all understand that meltdown, unemployment, work pressure, real estate...everything around us just make us more stressed. Out of stress, we neglect our diet, we get irritated very easily, mistrust, over-react, complain, grumble, pre-occupied with unrealistic goals, grumpy....so we are not living life at all. Stress is taking away the best moments in our lives. The funny things no longer has an humor, find no support from the relationships, the kids no longer gives happiness...stress truly affects and changes our personality. But, the question is - is there really a way out of stress! We can find loads of stuff on the net, get outside help, counselling...but is it going to reduce the stresss...um! yes to some extent...but practice of leading a stress reduced lifestyle. I know it's easy to say...but nearly impossible to do it...to put a stress free life in action. But it's possible. What matters is perspective…the way we look at things…if we change our perspective…we can lead a stress free life. Faith plays an important role in our lives if you believe on it. If we keep bothering ourselves of things that are not under our control…and leave it on faith..life becomes easier..the complaints, the grumblings, mistrust all fade away. The time that we are wasting on worrying can be transformed into times..moments.that can always put a smile on your face!

On of my close friend lost her job, there was a burglary in the house...her laptop and jewelry were stolen...I was so sure that she must be all stressed out..but what she told me about her layoff was "I am very excited that I will get the whole day for myself" and burglary...she said " Thank god! my laptop is gone ...my hands will be on rest and no worries about tendonitis.." All my girlfriends were shocked and we really felt she was pretending...but everytime we meet she is content and happy. She is living her life by appreciating all the things she have and not by brooding over the things that she doesn't have...like many of us!

Positive thinking, being assertive, able to articulate and communicate well the feelings and the most important factor is to learn to say "No".when you do things because you want to do it, you will have fun and enjoy whatever you are doing...But, to complaisant to others demands becomes stressful...

Forgiving...setting yourself free from the past unpleasant feelings will make you feel better. everyone is hurt by someone or another ..so there is nothing different that happened...but we all have the question Why me? thinking about it day in and day out will make you stressed...and your stress will have various innocuosus variations - higer blood pressure, more anger and frustrations, hostility, isolation, heart problems...

What we all can do to reduce their stress level..and eventually lead a stress free life:

  • · Pursue your hobby....spend at least two hours in a day on your hobby..if you like knitting, crotchet, embroidery, improving your cullinary skills, reading, exercise, yoga, dance. music...anything that makes you happy!
  • · Go out for a walk..admire the surroundings, the kids playing in the park...explore new roads...explore your neighborhood..notice the beautiful gardens ...your neighbors creativity at work
  • · Go and sit in a coffee shop..read a book, meet new people...discuss on things, topics that interest you and your partner...for god's sake...don't talk on recession and unemployment
