This program is good but I found Abs IQ www.absiq.com to be a far better program. Abs IQ was writen by a hight respected fitness trainer and nutritionist.

I've seen that one, too. I think they're both good. It depends on what your goals are

Stradafee  says:

One important factor is it does not teach portion control and it does not tell you how many calories you are taking in. This is something they should work on.

Strip That Fat may be a good weight loss program however one has to make sure whatever weight loss program they choose must be suitable for them. For example, the diet that they have to follow must not contain food that they are allergic to.

Poor Valerie.... she has been on a weight loss roller-coaster for so long. I hope this time it "sticks" - it sure can't be healthy to have your weight fluctuate so much and so often.

Thanks from:

Is the Obesity Epidemic For Real?

The media is constantly harping on the obesity epidemic. Is there really cause for alarm? After all, people with weight problems is nothing new. Well, the statistics do show an alarming rise in obesity, particularly among children. This is not a trend that should be dismissed easily. Studies clearly show that excess weight leads to all kinds of health complications.

The dollars that will be spent taking care of obesity related health problems will skyrocket if people don't attempt to get control of these problems. I say "people" and mean just that. Individuals. Government intervention and regulations will do nothing to stem this problem. That's why information is crucial for individuals to act upon.

If you or anyone of your family members have a weight problem, use every resource you can to take care of yourself properly. The library and the interent have a wealth of resources to help. Take advantage of them.

  • Cookie Diet: Another Fad Diet

Latest weight loss/diet news is the COOKIE DIET. Yeah, you read that right. Let's see, eat 6 cookies a day plus one real meal and you'll lose weight. I suppose you will, if you stick to it religiously. This is just another in a long line of fad diets that use substitution and restriction instead of a balanced diet of REAL food. As a matter of fact, I just thought of a new one: The Pizza Diet. Eat one small pizza a day plus two apples and you'll lose weight. Seriously, folks, these diets are just gimmicks. You may lose weight if you follow these plans to a tee but are any of them healthy? You didn't become overweight overnight. You became overweight because you ate too much junk and didn't stay active. Simple. You probably ate a lot of COOKIES along with potato chips, fast food, etc. Don't fall for this nonsense. The simple fact is that if you are overweight you need a healthy diet of fruits, vegetables, whole grains(carbs), lean protein and healthy fats COMBINED with some sort of physical activity. Just shuffling junk food around and counting calories is not enough. - 4 weeks ago

  • Lose Pounds Fast

The best way to Lose 10 pounds fast is to try some dietary refinements that you would apply temporarily for one or two weeks and then measure your progress from there. Depending on what YOU consume in your current diet, pick one or two of the approaches to lose 10 pounds from the list below. 1)Drastically reduce or eliminate refined carbohydrates from your diet. The list would include most breads, pastas, rice, corn and any snack foods made from these. Anything that comes prepared in a package should be avoided. Substitute more vegetables and salads(light dressing) for the missing bulk. 2)No liquid calories. This would include soft drinks, juice and milk. Don't put any sugar or heavy cream in your coffee or tea. Learn to love water. Not only does it contain no calories but it helps to cleanse your system in many different ways. 3) Eat heavier in the earlier parts of the day and have a light dinner. No snacks other than raw veggies before you go to bed. Studies have consistently shown that people who eat in this fashion have fewer weight problems. 4)Exercise. If you're in good shape but never exercise, even a moderate walking program applied consistently will take pounds off fast. More strenuous forms of exercise or recreational sports will do it faster. Just don't up your calorie intake. 5)Start each meal with a good serving of raw vegetables and salads before you touch anything else. This will fill you up and make you eat smaller meat and potato portions. You probably won't want anything for dessert other than an apple or orange. 6)Pretend that your television(s) is broke and can't be fixed for two weeks. Find other things to do. You might be be very surprised to see the effects on your waistline and mental health after a few weeks. It isn't hard to lose 10 pounds. It just takes a focused approach and some tweaking of your current habits. If you practice any of these approaches you'll see progress. Combining two or more of them will see even better results. We've all seen stories about formerly obese people who've lost 100 pounds. This is a lot easier to do now, before it gets to that, than to have to do more later. For cutting edge weight loss techniques consult the Strip That Fat program. - 5 weeks ago

  • Weight Loss Products: How to Spot a Scam

Are you looking to lose weight? If you are, there is a good chance that you will start your own weight loss program. When many individuals start their own weight loss programs, they do so with the help of a number of weight loss products, like diet pills or exercise equipment. If you are interested in buying these types of weight loss products, you need to always be on the lookout of scams, as they do exist. When it comes to weight loss products, like exercise equipment and diet pills, many people automatically wonder how they can tell if they are being scammed. Unfortunately, you often cannot tell by reading an advertisement in a magazine or online or by watching a television infomercial or even by looking at the weight loss product in question. The best way to determine if the weight loss product you are interested in buying is really worth your money is to do research first. When it comes to researching weight loss products, there are a number of different ways that you can go about determining if the product or products you want to buy are worth the cost. One of the easiest ways to go about doing so is by visiting the online websites of retailers that allow their customers or the general public to rate or review their products. Many consumers like to alert others to a product that is a waste of money or even alert others to a product that is well worth the cost. If you are able to find weight loss product reviews, you are advised to read them. When reading weight loss product reviews, like product reviews for diet pills or exercise equipment, it is important to remember that no product is perfect. Even the best products, like the ones that come highly rated and recommended, will have a few bad reviews. What you need to be cautious of is any weight loss product that has more bad reviews than it does good reviews. This is a surefire sign that the weight loss product in question may not be worth your money. You can also find product reviews or just specific weight loss products being discussed by performing a standard internet search. When performing a standard internet search, you will want your search phrase to be the name of the weight loss product in question. Your standard internet search may lead you to online message boards where weight loss and other health issues are being discussed. These types of websites and message boards are a great way to also learn about weight loss products that you may not have otherwise came across. Another way that you can determine if you are being “scammed,” by a weight loss product, is by examining the online website of the product distributor or manufacturer. When you buy a diet pill or another weight loss supplement, you should be provided with as much information as possible. Be cautious of any product whose website only claims to help you lose weight, but doesn’t explain how it is done. The same can be said for exercise equipment. Another great way that you can determine if the weight loss products you are interested in buying are worth the money is by speaking with your doctor. Often times, you don’t even have to schedule a visit; a telephone call should get you the answers that you were looking for. Most doctors can let you know if a weight loss pill or supplement that you are interested in buying is worth the money. If they can’t tell you about the specific product in question, there is a good chance that they can at least review the ingredients with you. For exercise equipment, your physician may also be able to provide you with advice. Of course, if you have the money to spend on weight loss products, you may be interested in going ahead and buying the product or products in question anyways. That is fine to do, but you also need to remember that many weight loss products, especially the ones featured on television infomercials are priced relatively high. - 2 months ago

  • Seven Diet Secrets of Celebrities

By: Carmen T. Wilson Celebrities always look fabulous. Whether appearing in television or films or strutting down the red carpet during movie premiers and awards, they never cease to fascinate us with their larger than life presence. The truth is, it takes a lot of effort to look the way they do, and being the public figures that they are, they cannot afford to slack off when it comes to taking care of their physical appearances. Their livelihood largely depends on how they look. Aside from the clothes, the hair and the makeup, celebrities have to take good care of their bodies. So it is no surprise that these stars have their own secrets when it comes to staying fit and gorgeous. Their health agenda can range from extreme workouts to well-planned meals. Who doesn't want to know their secrets in staying absolutely sexy? Here are some of the diet secrets of seven women celebrities. 1. Jennifer Aniston The star of the phenomenal television show Friends not only mesmerized audiences with her adorable comic sense and her famous hairstyle, she was also known for having one of the sexiest bodies in Hollywood, as she appeared in countless magazine covers. To stay trim, Jennifer follows the 40:30:30 diet method. The diet consists of: 40% Low glycemic carbohydrates -Foods such as beans, fruits and vegetables, legumes 30% lean proteins -Tofu, fish, chicken, turkey, beef and low fat dairy products 30% essential fats -nuts and seeds, fish and olive oils It is essential that every meal should contain macronutrients to attain the balance of hormones and maximum weight loss. 2. Kate Hudson The gorgeous daughter of actress Goldie Hawn gained 60 pounds during her pregnancy, which she needed to shed quickly before commencing on her next film. From her previous eating plan, she switched to a higher protein diet. She consumed high protein meals in smaller portions, and she combined this diet with an exercise program that includes weight training and cardiovascular workouts. After getting a lot of flak because of her post-pregnancy figure, Kate removed all that baby weight in only four months and has gained abdominal muscles that gained the envy of many in Hollywood. 3. Oprah Winfrey As one of the most successful talk-show hosts in the world, there is no question that Oprah needs to maintain her physical appearance for her millions of audiences. Known as one of those celebrities who are constantly battling weight gain, she has recently toned up her figure and has never looked figure in age 50 by combining a regular exercise regime and diet plan. Oprah works out five days a week, spending 30 minutes on the threadmill and doing free weights. Her eating plan consists of legumes, fish, nuts, fruits and vegetables, chicken and dairy products that are lowfat. She limits her consumption of white sugar and flour. Oprah also credits her trim figure to her habit of not eating anything after seven in the evening. 4. Gwyneth Paltrow A lot of people may find it hard to believe that the perpetually slim Academy award-winning actress actually needs to diet. Gwyneth actually follows a healthy eating plan that resembles Oprah's, avoiding sugar and white flour. She usually follows a macrobiotic diet, eating foods like vegetables, brown rice, and lean meat. She also eliminated dairy from her diet, and does yoga everyday. 5. Madonna The pop star known as the Material Girl has always flaunted a body that is to die for, and has become a true fitness paragon over the years. She keeps herself in tip-top shape by having Ashtanga Yoga, and follows a strict diet that mostly shuns junk foods. She adopted a macrobiotic eating plan that includes organic foods rich in lean protein. 6. Claudia Schiffer The bodacious German supermodel eats salad and steamed vegetables for dinner and eats only fruits before the afternoon. While on locations, she prefers to eat black grapes and drinks tomato juice and herbal tea. 7. Christie Brinkley Long-time supermodel maintains her all-American good looks by being a vegetarian. She does not keep junk foods of any kind inside her home to make sure that she does not eat them when cravings occur. She snacks on sweet potatoes in place of candy bars, and she adopts a liquid juice diet when she needs to slim down fast. Celebrities are just like ordinary people. They need to maintain their figures just like anyone else, and there is more pressure on their part since they are constantly in the public eye. Ordinary folks can have celebrity-like bodies, too, and by following these diet and fitness plans, they can also look like red-carpet worthy.
