Student Loans For People With No Credit
68Many future college students often ponder about getting a loan, especially when they have bad or no credit. Rest assured that student loans with no credit are possible. There are many agencies, even the government that will provide student loans for no credit, and even bad credit individuals. One should not let their credit standing, even if it's bad, get in the way of getting a college education.
The trick is to apply for financial aid and student loans as soon as they are accepted into the accepting college or educational institute. They are recommended to move quickly and don't waste time. Every year agencies and the federal government allow future students to receive millions in dollars in loans and grants to attend the college they have been accepted to.
It is an important step in building credit if one has never had a car payment, mortgage, or credit card payment. Getting student loans with no credit is an easy way to start a successful financial future.
Types of No Credit Student Loans
Luckily for the student looking for a loan, there are many types of
student loans available. The most common applied for is the Stafford
Loan. Around 50% of the students attending college receive this loan,
although there is a catch; the school must be a participant of the
Federal Family Education Loan Program. After applying and receiving the
Stafford Loan, the student will be notified of the funds available. The
funds go directly to the school so they can pay the tuition and other
costs of attending that college. If there is any funding left over
after paying the school, the student has the choice of receiving the
addition moneys or credit their account, giving them a head start on
any other charges.
Another very popular and often used student loan for no credit is the
Perkins Loan. These can also be secured, mostly combined with the
Stafford Loan. They were developed to help cover secondary expenses of
their education. In order to receive the Perkins Loan, the student has
to prove that they are truly in need of further assistance. Although,
like the Stafford Loan, the Perkins Loan is a high interest loan that
will have to be paid.
Another alternative to receiving a student loan for no credit is to
have a cosigner. This is usually the student's parent(s) or other
family member. Although the student has a cosigner, it still builds
credit. It is very possible to attend college on a student loan with no
credit.
Get Grants Before Loans
If you're looking into getting student loans, make sure that you check out Pell grants and other grants first. These don't have to be paid back. Lots of people search for no credit student loans because they think that they don't have any other options. You usually do have different options so keep those in mind. Pell grants are awesome and don't have to be paid unless you fail out of school.
