"Police were looking for a robber who fatally shot a University of Tampa cross-country runner on a street near the downtown campus."

"Tampa police said 21 year old (name) and a friend were confronted by a gun wielding man who demanded money.  They were walking to a friends house at the time."

"(Name) friend, who was visiting from Philadelphia, ran and then heard a gunshot.  Police found (name) dead at the scene."

"Police believe the robbery was random."

This is the world we live in today!  You've read about stories such as this, you've seen them on tv news, you've heard about them from your friends and co-workers.  You may even know of someone who was a victim of an attack.

It's hind sight and a shame that this could happen when in all probablility this death of a young man could have been avoided if he or his friend only carried some type of self protection device.

Let's face facts.....random attackes are carried out daily....every day....every hour.  In "good" areas as well as "not so good" areas. 

It doesn't matter if your in the lower income, middle income, or higher income bracket.  It doesn't matter if it's day or night.  In high traffic areas such as malls or on main street USA, in the city or in the country.

The only way you can protect yourself and your loved ones is to carry some sort of self protection device.

There are many self protection devices on the market such as stun guns, pepper sprays, and personal alarms.  You don't have to carry a firearm.

Stun guns, pepper sprays, and personal alarms don't kill.   Stun guns and pepper sprays are EPA approved because they don't harm the environment.

Having access to these self protection devices is much better than carrying
a firearm.  Firearms kill and you'd have to live with that for the rest of your life.  It'll never leave your mind. 

Whereas stun guns and pepper sprays will keep your attacker busy for 5 to 45 minutes while you're able to find a safe place to be.

I prefer a pepper fogger spray for self protection.  You don't have to aim it at any area of your attackers body.  The "fog" reaches out to about 10 feet from you and puts your attacker down for about 45 minutes. 

Stun guns run anywhere from $18 to $80 ..... Pepper sprays run adverage in the lower to upper teens  ...... personal alarms cost about the same as peppery sprays.

Why kill someone when you can disarm your attacker and get away without doing any killing.  Be safe, not sorry down the road.
