In a usually low-crime Midwest town a young woman unwittingly attracted the attention of a stalker. His obscene phone calls plagued her with threats of sexual assault and other types of violence. Co-workers observed him watching as she made her way to and from the parking lot. Thankfully, they walked her to and from her car, scouted out the building on a daily basis, and did what they could to help keep her safe. Local authorities were sympathetic but unable to help much since he kept his distance and had broken none of the local laws - at least not in a way that could be proven.

Meanwhile, the young lady decided to step up her own safety precautions. She enrolled in a martial arts class which helped her level of self-confidence improve, but she knew it would take more than a strong attitude to repel an attack. That's when a local detective suggested that she purchase some sort of weapon.

She was not willing to be responsible for the deadly force of a firearm, but she was quite willing to carry a stun gun. She settled on a stun gun shaped like a small flashlight. The Streetwise Stun Gun Pen fit the bill - literally. She began wearing it attached to her belt in the made-to-fit holster.

One evening, as she was unlocking the door to her home, the stalker came around the side of the building and walked toward her. Here's the thing that made the difference for her: she had her stun gun pen in one hand and her keys in the other hand. Before the man reached her she thumbed the safety switch and positioned her thumb on the stun button. At the last minute, just as he lunged forward to reach her, she touched the stun gun to his bare arm and pressed the stun button. He yelled in pain and sank to the ground as 800,000 volts disrupted his muscular control. To be sure, she zapped him a second time.

While he was incapacitated the woman went through the door and locked it behind her. She immediately called for help. Local law enforcement officers found the man lying on the ground beside her front porch, groaning and swearing. Once the police discovered his identity, they were able to solve a long string of ever-increasing assaults on women.

When questioned, the attacker said he thought it was "a crime that women were allowed to carry a weapon that could cause so much pain."

The victim said she was scared to death of guns but she wasn't willing to be unprotected. "The Streetwise Stun Gun Pen was recommended by a friend who liked that it was a real flashlight and a non-lethal weapon. She didn't want to carry a real gun, either, but the stun gun was just exactly what she was looking for."

"It worked for her and it probably saved my life, so you could say it really worked well for me!"
