Stytlish Stainless Steel Shelving

While most people might associate stainless steel shelves with the bathroom or kitchen, a lot of modern designers are starting to incorporate stainless into other areas of the house. Stainless shelving can look great in a living or lounge room if done carefully and tastefully.

The trick with using stainless in lounge rooms and living rooms is to not overdo it. Too much stainless steel shelving in your lounge and it will start to look like a commercial kitchen if you are not careful. On the other hand a single functional shelf made of stainless steel such as the one in the picture below can look minimalist and stylish and add a conversation piece to a room.

While stainless steel shelves in the lounge room may not be to everyone's tastes, most people see the utility of using stainless to build shelves or storage space in the kitchen.

Stainless steel does not rust which means it is great for wet environments such as a kitchen and is a great material for shelving that will be used regularly and treated poorly - this is why most commercial kitchens will use stainless steel benches as well as shelving.

Some people also use stainless for larger pieces designed to by stylish such as fridges and cupbourd space. Brushed steel stainless can is not as shiny as some stainless steel and is great for use in heavy duty kitchens.
