Subway Calories - What a Difference

The type of the sandwich has crucial effect when talking about subway calories. Just look at these ranges:

  • A typical 6" double meat italian BMT sandwich has 630 subway calories!

That's 350 calories difference in the total subway calories if you are eating a 6 inch sandwich and 700 calories if you are eating a footlong!

Of course, when comparing Subway to other fastfood restaurants, it is a healthier choice, but not by much. The only way to eat healthy when choosing Subway instead of Burger King or what have you, is by not getting all the trimmings on your sandwhich @ Subway. If you get cheese, mayon/mustard, type of bread, all of it adds up considerably and soon, there wouldn't be a difference between your cold sandwhich and a meat patty kept warm over a light bulb. The calorie difference isn't dramatically lower unless you cut down your choices/trimmings @ Subway.Great article published taking a closer look at the illusion and how its regarded.

Calories aren't is bad as long you're avoiding calories from fat. Avoid cheeze and high fat meats. Forget the chips and just drink water. its okay to have 500 calories at a meal. Sedentary people still need at least 1500 calories a day. It's just a matter of picking meals low in saturated fats, and keeping your caloric intake in mind so you don't over do it.

i have lost 35 pounds since january of 09. occassionally my wife has bought 6" subs at subway for the family. its a great way to get fresh healthy vegetables into my new lifestyle. my weight loss is proof that you dont have to go off the deep end to lose weight. like anything in life, moderation is the key.

Subway is an extremely healthy choice.

I always get footlong turkey on wheat which is 570 calories. That is not very many calories considering it is less than one-third of a 2000 calorie diet and it fills you up.

You can add as many no calorie toppings in your sub as you want such as: spicy brown mustard, hot sauce, lettuce, tomato, onions, green peppers, banana peppers, hots, pickles, cucumbers, and spinach leaves, but do not add cheese or any other sauces or mayo.

I also agree on Subway being a healthy choice compared to most fast food.. You just need to be careful of all the extras that add lot of additional calories to your meal.
