Going back to 1990 when I was first exposed to Network Marketing (MLM), I decided to respond to an ad that read: Make $600,000.00 a year and drive a Mercedes! The company was Nu-Skin and I was a total rookie at MLM! I had been in sales from 1985 to 1990, so I knew how to sell and communicate with people very well! Over the next 2 months I lost 31 of 33 of my personally sponsored distributors! This capped it and I quit Nu-Skin!
So, where to next? Still floundering around and not knowing what works and what doesn’t, I jumped into several other companies with not much long term success due to fallout and non duplication! I made some good money, but it never lasted! At this point, I needed to start understanding different criteria in companies to help me and others have a great chance to make it out there! It is not easy trying to find ALL the variables for success in a company that makes it all come together!
Now let’s talk about the some of the inherent problems companies have due to greed! If you have Compensation Plans like a Binary, Breakaway, Unilevel, Hybrids, or any other fancy plan that it not a Matrix, most likely you and your downline will fail! Changing things midstream to decrease our checks like the comp plan, increasing product prices, increasing PV, CV, BV to skim more money off the top, etc... What truly amazes me is that one company hands out an “income disclosure statement” at every meeting and I guess people do not even read this as it says that LESS than 1% of ALL of their current distributors are making a living doing their program! How can this excite anyone?
This is the part that simply amazes me! Why would you start taking away from those who helped you build your company? Just so you can fatten up your bank account temporarily? Is up front money more important than long term retention these days? Not only that, but you force people to find a new home and have to start all over again building a new group! Then we wonder why so many people fail and file chapter 7 in the courts today! If I owned a company, my primary goal would be to build it as the largest company on Earth long term!
I was ready to quit Network Marketing (MLM) in 2008 due to this happening to me time and time again! I was simply tired of rebuilding a group over and over again starting from scratch! The other major problem is HYPE! There is way to much hype by these big time promoters who simply get people all jazzed up about how great a company is when they know that the companies comp plan is ONLY good for them and not the new people coming in! Most of these companies have a Binary Comp Plan and high monthly auto ships that feed the owners and the big promoters great money, but NEVER the little guy!
Now, I think you can see why we have a major problem out there and there is only one way to correct it! People need to use their God given gift which is called their brains! We need to spend more time looking at an opportunity to see if it really is that great and get past all the HYPE! I have been to a lot of meetings and seen so much hype and these guys never tell you the whole truth, just what they want you to know! They want you to bring more people in, buy their training materials to get pumped up and keep the cycle going to help them become millionaires at your expense! The other problem we have is people say one thing and do another or simply put, no desire to have more in life!
Why nutrition and not other types of home based business programs? Since 1990 I have seen various types of programs come and go and most do not ever last long term! Samples of short term programs are affiliate types, cash gifting (many are nothing more than pyramid schemes with no products), telecoms, travel, mentoring types, online gambling, online gaming, entertainment types, etc... I prefer to build a program once and have a lifetime income! When you have to keep building over and over, you can never retire and this is more like selling for life!

The newest one is now healthy chocolate companies of which there are several and these are short term too! Why? Most taste bad and people can only take chocolate for so long before they drop out! Remember to Stay away from Binary, Breakaway, Unilevel, and Hybrid Compensation Plans as they are geared to make the company rich at YOUR expense!!!
So, how do we overcome all of these problems? We simply use our brains to look at many variables for success we not only need, but the people we introduce need as well!
