It is found in many surveys that people in America are more concerned about falling in debt than facing a terrorist attack. People in America have always been spending money more than they should be. Due to these reckless spending habits, they are now falling short of their payments. A wide majority of people still doesn’t know how to make a payment for their credit card purchases. It is due to this particular reason that you can find these folks looking towards other lending options, and that’s when cash advance loans come into play.

However, when it comes to payday lending, it is easy to see people finding them in the whirlpool of debt – chronic indebtedness is the outcome. Actually, the interest rate associated with these loans is extremely high, which is obvious for a short-term, unsecured loan. This interest rate sometimes gets so high that people find it impossible to deal with this exorbitant interest. That’s the point when things start to take a nosedive.

Although it is true that government has always been introducing new regulations to help people get loans at better rates, but these lenders have always been using specific tactics to avoid usury caps and other laws. It is due to the inability of government that more and more people now find them in debt.

The suggestion for policymakers is that they should focus on how to limit the back-to-back renewals and rollovers of payday loans. This is something that will keep people away from falling into the problem of chronic indebtedness which is caused by continuous renewals. Many lenders don’t mind renewing the loan term as it allows them to charge late fees and higher interest rate. Borrower, in this situation, is usually left with no other solution but to pay higher interest. By stopping lenders to go for unlimited renewals, it will become possible to keep people away from falling prey to the trap set by unscrupulous lenders.

Another thing that policy makers should do is conduct more research on how different policies affect price, demand and the use short-term credit. This is the point where a big effort needs to be put in. By delving deeper into the details related to the effects of policies on this particular industry it will become easier to make right changes to get better results.

The bottom line is that right policies should be made to help people use this option of cash advance loans in a much better way. The policies should not be made only to stop lenders from charging high fees, but other factors should also be taken into consideration. For instance, several policies are made just to make it a bit more inconvenient for people to get cash advance loans, but people still go for these loans when in need for quick cash. Policymakers should stop a lender from manipulating a situation, and that’s where it is important to conduct a research about the tactics that are in use. So, it is a lengthy process but government has to take some steps to keep people away from falling into the debt.

Different policies are generated for different schemes of money lending. The policies should be such that it does not affect the finance of the borrower in an adverse manner. I fully agree to your point that policy makers should make it a bit more convenient for people to borrow money and they should also check the unethical tactics lenders use.

Few of the surveys are also concentrating on those kinds, where you can pay low rates and get much more benefits.
