Summer time brings a flurry of urban activity and for the fashionista it’s a fabulous time to show off the new styles. There are so many new and exciting designs out there its hard to figure out what you want to wear! Winter time it’s easy to plan your wardrobe since the first objective is to keep warm and wool is always nice and formal. When the sun comes out and we shed our layers we also gain a plethora of styles to chose from and the urban style landscape absolutely bursts with color. With the coming of summer there is no better time to reinvigorate your closet.

Be daring this summer and take a walk on the wild side. This season will find the fashions turning towards bright colors with bold patterns perfect on a sweet sun dress. My Mom recently used coupons for Lane Bryant to save on her sun dress she just purchased. If the beach is your summer calling dress yourself in the beach scene colors. Aqua blues and tropical greens will hint of the deep seas and blue skies, while sweet pinks will add a little fashion buzz to your wardrobe. Spend time trying on clothing in these colors to see which hue suits you. Taking your time and considering what look you’re after will pay off in the long run.

A perfect summer fit will be layering-it isn’t just for winter. Layering light or gauzy fabrics can jazz up your outfit and is a lovely way to get a great summer look. Sheer fabrics will work the best and keep your outfit light and airy. Consider the possible color combinations when you shop and build around a group of mix and match articles of clothing.

While sun dresses and a layered look achieved with gauzy fabrics are perfect for lounging at the beach, strolling along the boardwalk or whiling away an afternoon at play you’ll also want to have a few solidly constructed basic pieces of clothing for your job. Clothing choices to consider include slim cut Capri’s, narrow skirts and structured sleeveless tops will bring the sun into the office while still giving you a professional look. I use Fashion Bug coupon codes to save money on these clothes.  These pieces can also provide you with a good foundation to build on with the more loose articles of clothing. Don’t be afraid to pick some dark colors. Black is always fashionable and goes well with almost anything but you’ll want to look into warm, earthy browns, deep charcoals and even deep, vibrant reds!

In addition to your summer wardrobe, you also might want to consider a fun update on your hair style. Those of you with longer hair can have some fun with twisting your tresses up and spearing it with a decorative hair stick. Pick up a couple so you can change out the look often. If you have short hair, a few grown up barrettes in tasteful styles will be perfect. Remember to pamper your hair during the summer. Salt water, sun and chlorine in the pool can be hard on your hair so keep it healthy with proper shampooing and regular conditioning.

These tips will help you achieve a fun look perfect for summer in the city!
