Although cash is tight and the world is in a joint struggle to stave of the global recession The company I work for seems to be bucking the trend, if you have read some of my other articles you will know that I work in a warehouse which supplies a chain of over 100 shoe stores across the UK and Ireland and we are opening more and more stores on a monthly basis, recently the Company opened a store in New York as they attempt to become a global name in the world of shoes.

The long cold winter is almost over and spring will soon be in the air, consumers are planning slightly ahead of time and purchasing their Spring and summer footwear in the hope of a long hot summer.

Sandals, Espadrilles and Flats are in massive demand and the stores are struggling to keep up with that demand, the Warehouse is working flat out to keep the stores supplied with this years Hot Summer Shoes.

Havaiannas always popular are up there amongst the most popular brands this year along with Birkinstock, Ted Baker, Firetrap, and the big designer names are getting in on the market such as Gucci, Prada and Armani.

Havaianas are always a popular choice with the consumer and 2009 is proving to be no different, there simple design and wide range of colors and patterns keep them at the top of the list, they can be worn on the beach out shopping, pottering about in the garden or just for relaxing in the home.

Havaianas were also included in the Oscar Awards this year as celebrities opened their gift bags and found a special edition black pair of Havaianas inside.

Birkenstock are another popular name year after year since the 1960's famed for their contoured cork and rubber footbeds,  which conform somewhat to the shape of their wearers' feet. Representative products include the two-strap sandal, the Arizona, and the Boston clog. Birkenstock shoes are worn with or without socks, the choice generally based on outside temperature.

in the United States they have become a part of everyday clothing from professionals to blue collar workers.

Ted Baker started out selling mens shirts and recently branched out in to other fields of the fashion industry, their summer Flip flops are proving popular with shoppers this year, they come in a range of colors and patterns that suit both men and women, similar to Havaianas in shape and look but at a fraction of the price Ted Bakers are literally flying off the shelves this year.

 Open toed sandals, canvas pumps and Gladiator sandals are also very popular this year and the bigger the Brand name the more they are desired, Gucci, Armani Prada to name but some are very popular this season, espadrilles and boating canvas shoes are selling as quickly as the stores recieve delivery.
