Sun TV network, the most powerful media conglomerate launched their own film production and distribution concern Sun Pictures.

At a grand launch on Monday (Sep 8), at Residency Towers, the COO of the company Hansraj Saxena unveiled the logo and also talked about its future moves.

Sun Pictures plan is to produce and distribute atleast one film a month. As of now their first release will be Atlantic Cinema’s Kadhalil Vizhinde, which has the chartbuster Vijay Antony number Nakku Mukka…. The film is the launch pad of Boys Nakul as hero.

They have also two Jeeva films- Thenavattu and Siva Manasille Sakthi (SMS). Sundar.C’s Thee, and Narain’s Pookada Ravi.

Those who attended the function were Sundar.C, Pandirajan, Jeeva, Srikanth, Shaam, Nakul, Ganja Karupu, J.K Riteesh,Vijay Antony, Sreekanth Deva and producers and directors of the films announced.

South India-based television broadcaster Sun TV Network Ltd said on Monday it will start film production through its unit, Sun Pictures.

The company did not disclose any financial details of the venture, but said it would open a new revenue stream and add to its movie library.

Sun TV currently operates 20 television channels in several regional languages and also operates radio stations.
