Many Sunbathing Turtles

Walking around Greenfield Park in Wilmington, North Carolina, I saw many turtles sunbathing on different things.

A large and small turtle sunbathing on a decaying tree trunk in the water. Turtles are a reptile with a shell back, breathing air and like the water, but don't lay eggs in water.

Several turtles sunbathing on a log, scurried into the water when hearing me approach to take photo. Two coming out of the pollen coated water to sunbath on a mound.

Went to the wetlands down in Florida one time, and went for a boat ride on a river called Turtle River. It is called by its Native American Indian name, but I can't remember what that is. Anyhow, your photos reminded me of that family vacation.
