Sunburn Remedies - Home Remedies for Sunburn
50The best remedy found right in your kitchen!
Look no further than your kitchen to beat the hot rays!
Burning, itchy, peeling, raw, red skin is one of the most common problems in summer time. With the hot rays beating down upon us we are easily targets for sunburn and all of its nasty side effects. We know to put on sunblock that is spf 30 or better before going out but sometimes we forget or it wears off too soon. What do you do then? Now your suffering from sunburn and its excruciating side effects. Well look no further than your kitchen.
What was that? The kitchen? Yes! The best home remedy is something you most likely already have in your pantry closet or cubbard. The best most soothing remedy is TEA! Chammomile tea is excellent but most kinds of tea will work to sooth the irritated skin. This product cost less than most of the specially designed anti itch, anti peel, anti burn creams/ lotion on the market. These get to be pricey as they are priced at between $5 and $20 depending on where you go and when your getting them. Most of these items go up in price during the summer since you are more likely to get sunburned then. The price of tea is cheap usually between $1 and up depending on how good the tea is. Chamommile tea is usually $3 a box of 24-30 tea bags.
Now your saying to yourself, your kidding right? No, not at all. For a whole lot cheaper your sunburn pain will be alleviated using a few tea bags and maybe some help from a friend or family member since you may have some hard to reach areas.
Make the tea as directed! Let the tea cool enough so you can touch it. Take the wet tea bags and smear them directly over the sunburn or have someone else do this if you can reach. The ingredients in the tea help sooth the skin and draw out the irritants. You will feel better, your skin will feel better and your wallet will feel a whole lot better.

Despite my daily slathering of sunscreen (even living in not so sunny Seattle), I managed to get a horrid burn today...the first in years and years. I'll try this tonight.

Well, I'd never have guessed! Fortunately I rarely get burnt these days, but that also means I never have any sunburn remedies in the house. Thanks to your advice that will no longer be a problem!
The reason I rarely get burnt is one simple fact that a dermatologist told me. It takes HALF AN HOUR for sunscreen to sink into the skin and become effective. So you must always apply your SPF30 at least half an hour before you expose your skin. If you just slap it on and go straight out in the sun, your skin is completely unprotected for those first 30 minutes.
