Super Bowl Induced Madness!!
52Super Bowl Viewing Induces Crazy Talk
I can honestly say that for the most part, I don't usually watch football. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy the game, especially if I can be at the game to cheer on my team. Oh sure, I'll catch the occasional game on tv if my husband decides he wants to indulge an old habit and watch the game he both loves and hates, but generally we stay away and for a very good reason.
You see, watching football induces a particular response from not only my husband, but from myself as well...football induced foul mouth syndrome. Yes, indeed I have not only seen it happen to my dear husband, but have succumbed to the affliction myself. It's insidious. Normally we are sane people, but watching a football game suddenly changes everything! We will react to the television as if the people in the little box can hear us. Demanding justice for unfair calls, denouncing sloppy or downright disappointing performances by specific players. It's sad, really. What should be only a game can swiftly turn me, a generally normal person and reduce me to an angry, cursing, foaming at the mouth loon at the turn of a badly called play.
The Super Bowl only makes it worse.
I might say I'm only watching it for the humerous commercials, the fabulous half time show, but no...I have picked a team and when they do not perform well I lose my normally cheerful composure.
My husband is often tempted to throw a lamp at the television.
The best antidote for this sport induced madness??
Change the channel to WIPEOUT and laugh hysterically while people make complete fools out of themselves trying to earn a large sum of cash, and watch the rest of the game on the internet...where it all seems a little less personal.

I've been know to throw a thing or two during football games-- here is some great advice-- keep plenty of pillows around to throw--they do less damage!
