Super Fruits – what are they, and what are the benefits of drinks containing juices from these fantastic fruits

Little did I know as a kid that all of these wonderful and tasty fruits/berries were a "Fountain of Youth" and goodness, and were to become known as Super Fruits!

Bluberries

Blueberries

Haven't we all been butt up picking these wonderful berries, or maybe not. My childhood gave me the opportunity to sit in the middle of a blueberry bundle together with friends, putting them on straws, taking them home and have sugar on them. A delicious snack and so much fun, a lot of laughs came from getting blue hands and blue mouths. You couldn't deny to have been in the woods, everyone could see that!

What we didn't know then; was that they were bundled with one of the richest sources of antioxidants. And, that those rich antioxidants help protect against the ravaging of aging.

If we compare blueberries with cranberries and blackberries, blueberries win! All the time! And may I ad, in taste as well!

Blueberries might just be your best source of maintaining your youthful appearance.

You're "Fountain of Youth" so to speak!

Black-currants

Blackcurrants

Wonderful childhood memories!

Blackcurrant juice is one of the things my mom used to give me during the cold winter months. Especially when a cold was on the "march" and after a long day out in the snow, the hot blackcurrant juice came out, making you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I just loved the taste of it.

And again, little did I know that the blackcurrant was packed with antioxidants and vitamins, especially vitamin C.

My mom had a hunch; I believe.

I have learnt that blackcurrants also contain a very rare Omega 6 fatty acid, and that the high levels of antioxidants, vitamins and the essential fatty acids are great in reducing inflammations.

So, you know what? My mom knew what she was doing; giving us kids the best there is in the world, blackcurrant juice during the cold winter months!

Grapes

Grapes

Grapes, these green and red wonders, which we very often use as a snack and are a must on our cheese table, are rich in antioxidants!

Did you know that they also can be beneficial to heart health? A lot of studies have revealed some awesome benefits of grapes!

And when you spit out the seeds, did you know that you are actually spitting out a LOT of antioxidants? A major part of excellent antioxidants are located in the seeds! That is why they are so bitre!

You should start eating them, a bounty of good they'll do you!

A recent study shows that there are some hefty flavonoids in grapes. And flavonoids are important in research towards arranging - or rearranging - cells that are responsible for growth and reproduction.

Grapes also contain a natural antioxidant that may earn the title "Fountain of Youth".

Noni Fruit

Noni

Noni is a small fruit from the South Pacific.

If we look closely at the history of the noni plant, we see why the ancients loved it so much, and cherished it.

The whole plant, leaves, seeds and this fruit had a very central part of their culture.

A gift from the Gods, the ancient wisdom said.

Studies today show that noni does contain a lot of essential minerals and nutrients, essential fatty acids that benefit the skin, and is a rich source of powerful and active antioxidants.

Scientists around the world are now looking at the health related benefits of this once-forgotten plant.

Drinks with Super Fruits

So, what would happen if we could get a drink with all of these fantastic super fruits? Put together into one great concoction? Would one overshadow the other?

No, all the juices work together, providing us with the smartest drinks ever! Magnifying the benefits of all of them!

The sum is then greater than the parts!

Hi Flying Eagle,

Great info about Mother Nature's best. I love all these fruits, but when they come in a juice....yum! Went berry picking a few times this year. There is nothing like fresh off the bush!

Of course not everyone is as lucky as I am and can go pick fresh fruit, so juice is a second best. There are also some great supplements with these berries in them as well.

Thank you, Michelle, for the comment.

Isn't it wonderful how we are able to enjoy the finer things in life. Like being butt up in the forrest picking berries wonderfully tasty, and full of antioxidants, which are so good for the body, hair and skin. I agree; There is nothing like fresh off the bush. Like you say, unfortunately, not everyone is so fortunate as we are, that they can wander in the woods picking to their hearts delight.

Then it is good to know that you can find good sources, and that these are 100% natural with no added sugar, sweeteners or chemicals.
