Mario made his first appearance in "Donkey Kong" released on the Atari game system in the early eighties.
Before long however he was starring in his very own video game called "Super Mario Bros" which was released in 1985 for the Nintendo Entertainment System or NES.
The game was very addictive and the smooth gameplay helped it to become a massive hit. Today, the Super Mario series of games have been played by millions of kids (and adults) all across the globe.
