Super foods deliver more nutrients than vitamin tablets

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day – yet millions of people walk out the door with a thermos of coffee and a full to-do list. Your body needs fuel to work properly. Your brain needs energy to think properly. Smoothies are a great way to get super nutrition in a tasty treat. They are quick to make and easy to share. A great tasting smoothie can really make you wake up wanting breakfast.
Its easy to be prepared for good nutrition
Keep a list of smoothie ingredients on hand so you can make nutrient rich and delicious smoothies - fast. I normally keep a list of certain ingredients on hand so I can substitute different fruits or juices to change the flavor depending on my appetite.
Here is my list: juice (I mix it up), plain whole yogurt, flax seeds, a super green powder, coconut milk powder, Protein powder (vanilla), flax seed oil, and wheat germ. You can actually eat more nutrients in one smoothie than you can get in taking a fistful of vitamins - especially if you supplement your smoothie with spirulina, kelp, chlorella or nutritional yeast. ( not to be confused with cooking yeast)
Many people are simply not getting nourished by the foods they eat
More people are suffering from malnourishment than ever before, even though they are actually eating more. The misconception that more food means better nutrition has given rise to a billion dollar supplement industry. The fact that nearly two thirds of Americans take some type of vitamin supplement regularly shows that people already know their diets are lacking in nutrition.
Supplemental nutrition is big business because food is so bad Even the fresh food we get today is not as nutrition as it was even 30 years ago. Many diets consist of highly processed, prepackaged foods that contain fillers, preservatives and artificial chemicals. To get proper nutrition you must eat a diet filled with lots of fresh vegetables, whole grains and whole foods.
Nutritional supplements are huge moneymakers because the nutritonal quality of food is so bad.
Are your vitamins really helping you stay healthy?
How can you know you are getting good nutrition from your daily supplement? How can you tell if you are getting the nutrition form your supplements? Are you getting the nutrition from your supplements?
Whole food supplements nourish your body in a holistic way. They contain trace minerals, phytonutrients and other elements that aid in vitamin digestion and absorption. Drinking adequate water also plays a significant part in nutrition. If you don't have enough water in your system your body simply can't absorb the nutrients effectively form the food you eat. Synthesized vitamins are not necessarily used by your body even if you take them regularly.
Super foods refer to nutrient dense micro algaes
Super foods is a term for super green powders containing Spirulina chlorella kelp and other green vegetables. The primary advantage of using this form of nutritional supplement is that the nutrition in this powder is easily and immediately digested and used by your body. Unlike synthesized vitamin tablets, there are no fillers or tablets to digest first.
Food is big business and nutrition often takes a back seat to manufacturing and distribution demands.
It only makes sense that whole foods are better for us than refined foods. As a species we have not changed in tens of thousands of years. We have literally been eating the same things nearly all that time - until about 75 - 100 years ago. With the industrial revolution and post WWII the economics of food changed form growing food to producing it. This led to changes in refining, manufacturing, shipping, storage and quality. Food became something to produce rather than produce you eat.
Whole foods are better for you than synthetically derived nutrients
Regardless of which foods you choose or how much you eat, typically whole foods provide more nourishment than refined foods. For example: Maple syrup is healthier than white sugar just as brown rice is better for us than white rice. This same analogy holds true for vitamins. Using supplements that are from whole foods provide your bodies with easily digestible, bio available and highly concentrated nutrients. Super green foods are a simple and economical way to eat your greens and eliminate taking fistfuls of vitamins. try then in a breakfast smoothie and see what good nutrition feels like!

This is so true! I've taken to eating only brown rice and that kind of thing. Only one thing to be aware of right now is that maple syrup as it's sold is probably not made with real maple syrup anymore. You have to check the ingredients to make sure it's not something like high-fructose corn syrup or another unhealthy sugar substitute.
But there is pure maple syrup available especially in country stores. But fortunately, you can order it online nowadays, so you can get the real stuff without having to buy it in supermarkets...where you're more likely to find the bad stuff.
Anyway, back to vitamins, thanks for pointing that out. I'd much rather get them naturally than otherwise.

That sounds like a great idea for saving time on the morning! I'd much rather drink something actually nutritious than just pop a vitamin with a glass of milk.
Isn't it great how well whole foods work? We keep making improvements in tehchnology but it looks like ancient civilizations had it all figured out. None of this bleaching our flour, processing our meat (and eating far too much of it), and taking processed vitamins to try to make up for it.
Thanks for sharing, I love learing more about nutrition and how to really take care of my body.
