We all know the mega-superstar superhero of Batman, Spiderman and Superman etc. I mean, how many times did you watch Spiderman with Toby McGuire? I've seen that movie at least twenty times. Doesn't get much less for that with Batman either. And I've seen Supergirl (yes the 1980s version) at least that many times, but probably more. When did dressing like a superhero become only for kids? You've seen the Val Kilmer Batman right?

The superhero costume has sure evolved since I was six and running pretending to be Wonder Woman. The magical days of wearing costumes all day for fun are gone, but we can at least enjoy it on Halloween. Especially now that the costumes are so wicked cool. Where was Storm when I was 17 and trying to find a sexy adult costume?

With the various evolution of the superhero, and new inventions, there are different types of every hero. Unfortunately, they haven't remade some of the most famous superhero costumes from my youth, but I'll be excited when they do. Of, there isn't any reason you can't do your own magical version of an updated Captain America, The Wonder Twins (maybe base these on the new Extreme Justice cartoon versions).

So which superhero costume are you? The new improved versions or the older retro and vintage versions?

Are you the rubber suited Batman, with thong and sexy six pack abs (and the well placed nipples)? Dark and mysterious with chocolate raspy voice.. wait what was I talking about? While not the most favored Batman movie, this Batman costume has a lot to be said about it.

Or are you the Adam West Batman with tights and virtuous language? Probably not ever person's favorite, given the choices, but think about how fun it would be to wear the vintage version and run around going “KABLAM” “POW”.

Maybe you're Christian Bale's version of sultry and wicked.

There really isn't a best Batman costume.They're all fun.

There really is no delicate way to put this so I'll just say: any superman costume needs a protective cup. There I've said it, its out there, no taking it back. That being said, leave superman to the under 10 crowd, until they update the costume to an acceptable version, of course. Superman is a great hero, but there is something about the multi-colored tights and codpiece which does not fit into any version of hot. I'll never understand why they didn't update that costume to more modern color schemes. If we're lucky, they'll make a more wicked version of Superman, like they did with Batman! Now Supergirl is a different story.

There isn't enough good things to say about this heroine. She's perfect in every way! When Helen Slater wore that costume she was that perfect blend of blond with ice blue eyes and the innocent smile and demeanor. That character opened a whole new world for me. It was the first and only comic book hero that I followed as a teen and adult. If they update this character she will have to be exceptional to come even close to Helen's legendary Supergirl. Other than a fairy princess I can't imagine a costume idea I love as much.

Thank goodness this is also available in plus size adult costumes.

If men only knew how much women want to jump on Robin, rather than Batman, they'd wear this costume as a daily ritual. And Chris O'Donnell may not have been the most stellar actor, but as Robin, well I know more than one heart fluttered in the theaters. Gentlemen, nothing is more sexy than the innocent sweet man who also can hold his own in a bar fight wearing tights.

Probalby the only hero who can wear a full lycra costume and look manly and completely hot. I'm a little old to be swooning over Spiderman, but swoon I did. And still do (I own the dvds).You may want to heed the following advice: if you have even one ounce of extra fat on your body, one milligram, one teeny tiny spec, it will be seen!

We can't leave this non-traditional hero out of every costume discussion. Hunky sideburns, indestructible, smoldering eyes, deep raspy manly voice...I forgot my place again. The comic costume is much different than the movie version, of course, but both are still awesome.The comic costume is the yellow full lycra suit version. The movie just had Hugh wearing extra sideburns, a cool hair style, leather jacket and ofc the finger knives

If you're short on costume ideas here are a few you may have overlooked:

The Hulk – not the traditional handsome superhero but still fun and exciting! And very memorable. Of course with the resurgence of The Hulk and The Incredible Hulk, you probably won't be the only one in this costume.

Gambit – My favorite Xmen character. That sexy southern Lousiana accent. My oh my oh my.. be still my beating heart.

Daredevil – Red hot sexy leather clad man doing ninja moves- need I say more?
